What Are Polymarket Squads?
Polymarket Squads are in-app group chats where traders can discuss markets, share positions and Combos, and trade directly from what other members post. Polymarket launched Squads on September 8, 2026, in its US app.
Squads come in two formats: friends squads, which anyone can create and share by link or QR code, and admin-run squads, where one host posts picks for members to copy or fade. In both, members can copy a shared trade or position with a single tap and place it from their own account. For now, Squads are only available to US users in the Polymarket mobile app, not on desktop.
Key Features of Polymarket Squads
Squads bring three things that usually happen in separate apps into one place: the group chat, sharing picks, and placing the trade. The table below breaks down each feature and what it does inside the Polymarket app.
| Feature | What it Does |
|---|---|
| Chatting | Discussing markets, prices, and other trading elements |
| Sharing | Sharing trades with your friends and vice versa |
| One-tap copying | Copying one’s position instantly |
| Group-creating | Easily creating groups and inviting your friends |
| Invite-sending | Sharing links and QR codes in no time |
| Easy-joining | Joining groups with one tap |
| Customizing | Changing group name and its image |
| Trading with insight | Seeing what other group members trade |
| Individual accounts | Each member trades from their own Polymarket account; Squads don't pool funds or create a shared bankroll |
| Trade-following | Having access to your friends’ trades to see how they settled/were sold |
| Buy button | Used for instantly purchasing a contract that other members already have |
| Position tab | Showing all active positions |
| Combos | Sharing and following bundles of 2 to 10 individual market positions |
How Do Polymarket Squads Work?
Every squad follows the same journey. One trader creates the squad and invites friends; the invited traders join through the link, and from then on members chat, share trades, and copy or fade each other's positions. Each member trades from their own verified Polymarket US account, so a squad never pools money or creates a shared bankroll. The sections below walk through each stage in order: creating a squad, joining one, and sharing and following trades once everyone is in. Following a trade means buying the same contract as a squad member, while fading it means buying the opposite outcome.
How to Create a Squad on Polymarket
Any trader with a verified Polymarket US account can create a squad in under a minute. The process ends with the invite step, which is where your friends come in. Here's how it works from start to finish:
-
Open the Squads tab: Tap Squads in the bottom menu of the Polymarket app.
-
Create the squad: Tap the compose icon and choose "Create a squad".
-
Customize it: Give the squad a name and pick an emoji or photo so members can spot it in their chat list.
-
Invite members: Share the invite link or QR code through iMessage, WhatsApp or another messaging app, or search for usernames and sync your contacts to add friends who already use Polymarket. Friends who sign up through your link may also qualify for Polymarket's refer-a-friend bonus.
-
Start chatting and trading: Once members join, you can post messages, share positions and Combos, and get notified when others share theirs.
Once you send invites, the rest of the process moves to your friends' side. What they need to do depends on whether they already have a Polymarket account, which the next section covers.
How to Join a Polymarket Squad and Invite Traders
Joining a squad starts with the invite link a friend sends you. New users need to set up and verify an account first, while existing Polymarket users can go straight to accepting the invite. If you're new to Polymarket:
-
Open the invite: Tap the link in the message you received (for example, in iMessage or WhatsApp) to download the Polymarket app.
-
Sign up: Tap "Sign Up", fill in your details, and complete KYC verification. Squads are only open to verified accounts.
-
Accept the invite: Go back to the original message, tap the link again, and accept the invite to join the squad.
If you already use Polymarket, tap the invite link and accept it, or open the in-app notification you get when a friend adds you by username. Either way, you land straight in the squad chat.Once you're in, you can grow the group too. Tap the round blue "+" button at the bottom right of the squad to invite more friends, even if you didn't create the squad. From there, the squad becomes a shared trading feed, which is where sharing and following trades come in.
Sharing and Following Trades in Polymarket Squads
Squad members can share trades in two ways. The first is automatic: squad settings can post a trade card in the group chat every time a member trades, and add a Positions tab that shows every member's active positions. The second is manual: go to your profile, open your active trades or positions, and use the Share button to send one to the squad chat. You can follow a trade from either place. Tap the trade card in the chat or a position in the Positions tab, check the market and price, then choose "Trade" to buy the same contract or "Fade" to take the opposite side. Each trade is placed from your own account, so you choose your own stake every time.
Open vs Admin Polymarket Squads
Polymarket Squads come in two formats, and the difference comes down to who posts. In open (friends) squads, every member can chat and post trades, while in admin-run squads only the admin posts and members follow. Which one suits you depends on whether you want a group conversation or picks from a single source.
Open Squad
An open or "friends" squad is a casual group of traders with no moderator hierarchy. Anyone can create one and invite people by link, QR code, username search or contact sync, and every member can post messages, share trades, and copy or fade what others post. These squads tend to mix trading with relaxed conversation about the games and markets the group follows.
Admin Squad
An admin squad is run by a single host, such as a creator, handicapper or community leader. Only the admin posts picks and trades, while members can copy or fade them. It works more like a subscription feed than a group chat. These squads can lack the relaxed atmosphere of open squads.
Using Polymarket Squads With Friends and Followers
Squads work best when the group brings different knowledge to the chat. One friend might follow injury reports, another tracks team stats, and another watches line movement. Sharing that in one place before trading gives everyone more to go on, and because members can see each other's positions, you can copy the trades you agree with, fade the ones you don't, and see how each call played out. Followers of an admin squad get something different: a feed of one host's picks instead of a group discussion.
Using Polymarket Squads for NFL Prediction Markets
Polymarket launched Squads on September 8, 2026, just before the start of the NFL season, and paired the launch with a football-season marketing campaign. That timing makes NFL Sundays the obvious use case: a group can watch the games together, talk through the lines in the chat, and agree on which markets to trade.
For NFL groups, it helps to turn on automatic trade sharing and the Positions tab, so every pick shows up in the chat as soon as it's placed. That way, the group can react to injury news and line moves together during the game and copy or fade each other's calls in real time.
Where Are Polymarket Squads Available?
Squads are available wherever the Polymarket US app is available. Polymarket US isn't available in Arizona, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada or Ohio. Regulators in several other states have taken action against prediction markets, so check the latest availability in your state before signing up.
