LA Dodgers Follow Red Sox with Quiet Kalshi Tie-Up

The LA Dodgers are the latest MLB franchise to “announce” a sponsor deal with prediction markets giant, Kalshi.
We say “announce”, but the deal has apparently squeaked out without any sort of official fanfare.
However, Kalshi advertising has been seen on the digital outfield signs this month. In addition, a Kalshi logo was seen at the weekend at the LA Dodgers’ stadium.
Dodgers Deal Latest Kalshi Partnership to Go Unnoticed
The apparent tie-up between the MLB franchise and the prediction markets leader is the latest to go with relatively little press attention.
The Boston Red Sox dropped a Twitter post on Friday displaying Kalshi’s name. Plus, Kalshi sent an email to Red Sox fans urging them to sign up for a new account.
The MLB pair are the latest baseball teams to quietly buddy up with Kalshi. Earlier this month, the Atlanta Braves apparently “announced” a partnership deal with the platform.
MLB & Prediction Markets: The Deals So Far
- March 2026: Polymarket named MLB’s official prediction market exchange.
- July 2026: New York Mets announce a deal with Novig, provoking anger from fans.
- August 2026: The Boston Red Sox email fans with a Kalshi promotion. No official press release about the deal is made.
- August 2026: The LA Dodgers display Kalshi banners at its Dodger Stadium.
Dodgers, Red Sox Keen to Avoid NY Mets Blowback
Major League Baseball has had a partnership deal with Polymarket since March. However, individual teams are striking out on their own arrangements.
However, the Boston Red Sox, and now the LA Dodgers, will be keen to dodge the bad press associated with the New York Mets’ deal with Novig in July.
The Mets and Novig went public on an Exclusive Official Prediction Market Partner deal in July. It was the first such deal between an MLB franchise and a prediction market exchange.
Like the evident Kalshi deal struck with the LA Dodgers, the Mets announced new Novig signage at Citi Field, as well as branded in-game moments.
However, not all Mets fans were keen on the partnership, with some taking to Reddit to vent their frustration.
Prediction Market Partnerships Here to Stay
Major U.S. sports have continued their tentative relationship with prediction markets this year. And there exists a (for now) uneasy relationship between the online sportsbooks and prediction markets.
The NFL has been the most stringent in its opposition to prediction markets.
It went so far in July as to urge a tougher crackdown from the CFTC on vulnerable markets. The NFL also wants the legal age for trading on markets to go up, from 18 to 21.
The legal wranglings seen across the U.S. this year between states and the prediction market exchanges is sure to spill over into sports. Should the Supreme Court rule on who has jurisdiction over predictions, either late this year or early next, expect the sports franchises to be caught up in it.
That could mean a crackdown on in-stadium advertising, especially in states that neither have legalized sports betting nor gaming commissions willing to play ball.
