Genius Sports has launched its new prediction markets comparison website, Prediction.com, just the latest tool in the traders’ arsenal.

Released through Genius Sports’ media and tech company, Legend, Prediction.com joins a host of websites that compares multiple prediction markets on one page.

Visitors can also check event contract data on thousands of different markets across the major operators, including Kalshi and Polymarket.

Up to 5M Requests a Month

While retail consumers can access the site for free, Prediction.com is also offering a scaled subscription model.

The ‘Dev’ package for developers allows 1 million comparison requests a month. The ‘Pro’ option facilitates up to 5 million data requests each month.

Dynamic Responses Key to Prediction Comparison Growth

The model of prediction markets means traders need to make decisions in real time as events unfold. Unlike fixed-odds sportsbooks, where bets may be made days or months ahead and left, prediction markets allow traders to move out of positions quickly.

The new Prediction.com platform, Genius Sports says, “allows fans to follow play-by-play action alongside changing probabilities, prices and market signals”, therefore creating a one-stop shop for “discovering markets before an event and tracking them as the action unfolds.”

Comparison sites are particularly useful in highly volatile markets like the NFL, where predicting outcomes can require minute-by-minute analysis.

Genius Sports isn’t the only player in this sphere, however.

The TickerTracker app checks overall prediction market volume, market counts, and open interest across all major exchanges.

Genius Sports Extends Reach into Predictions

This is the latest move by Genius Sports to expand its reach in the prediction markets industry.

In August, Genius Sports and Kalshi agreed a major media and integrity partnership. Genius Sports agreed to provide Kalshi with official data across its entire soccer portfolio, covering the English Premier League, Serie A, and more.

Genius Sports’ ability to access verified official data means Kalshi’s markets can be more accurate for users.

Prediction markets “will scale on a foundation of trusted, fast and accurate data”, said Genius Sports’ Sean Conroy at the time. “Reliable technology” and “robust integrity services” were also key when offering transparency in sports markets, he added.

Genius ‘Welcomes Co-operation’ with Prediction Regulators

Prediction markets are going through a turbulent “troubled teenager” period right now. The industry faces multiple challenges, both on a state and federal level.

Some states like Connecticut with vested sports betting industries are trying to rein in the prediction market exchanges. Others, like Maine, are banning markets altogether.

Genius Sports co-founder Mark Locke suggested in a blog post this week that a U.S. Supreme Court was the only to iron out problems, specifically with sports event contracts.

A “substantive” victory for prediction markets at the Supreme Court “would settle which laws apply to sports-event contracts offered on CFTC-registered exchanges”, he said.

He ended by making a prediction: trading on exchanges will be taxed in some form under “some regime, federal, state, or both”. This could take some time, and by then, the Supreme Court may decide who has complete control over the exchanges.
