Fanatics Markets Review 2026: Is Fanatics a Good Prediction Market Platform?
Most of you will know Fanatics for its sportsbook and online casino, but in this review of the Fanatics prediction trading product, I’m going to delve into their latest offering - an app where you can buy and sell event contracts.
These prediction markets are available for a wide range of real-world events such as sports, politics, economics, and culture. If you read on, I’ll explain how the app works and if it’s legit or not. I will also look at important Fanatics Markets features such as its market categories, security, and mobile usability.
- Fantastic quality mobile apps
- Simple $1 trade contract setup
- Fully regulated by the CFTC
- Widely available in the US
- Still expanding its markets
- No desktop version
Is Fanatics Markets legit? Checking its core features
I’m confident that Fanatics Markets is legit and that it has all the core features in place that this type of app should have.
Fanatics Markets is regulated by the CFTC
Fanatics Markets offers its trade derivatives via Crypto.com and CDNA which are both CFTC (Commodities and Futures Trading Commission) regulated. The involved brokers are registered with the CFTC, and are also members of the NFA (National Futures Association). As a result, Fanatics Markets can legally offer its services in the US and I am confident that the companies it works with are legit.
The site and apps have excellent security and transparency
I tested the security of both the apps and the desktop website and I was pleased to see standard features like SSL encryption. Various verification methods will be needed during the registration process too. The transparency of the site and its operations is also fantastic, and I like that there is a clear disclaimer in the website footer that explains that you can potentially lose money purchasing trade contracts. You can read a range of documentation too which includes important disclosures, regulatory disclosures, a privacy policy, and the CDNA Rulebook.
Customer support is currently limited
At the time of writing this Fanatics Markets review, I was only able to contact customer support via email. I was disappointed with this, as the other Fanatics products I have used have always had live chat support, so I hope they add this in the future.
I sent a few emails and the response times were usually within 2-3 hours which is ok. On the desktop landing page, they do have a detailed Q&A section which I liked. This basically explains how the trade contracts work and what you can do at Fanatics Markets.
There is an ok selection of banking methods
The app seems to use the same banking setup as the casino and sportsbook, and I was able to make deposits using debit cards, Apple Pay, Online Banking, or Wire Transfer. There’s a minimum deposit limit of $10, and the payments are processed instantly.
I did notice that they charge a 2% fee for debit card and Apple Pay payments which isn’t great. For withdrawals you can use Online Banking or debit card, and surprisingly enough, there are no withdrawal fees. For the withdrawals I made, the money landed in my account within 3 business days, which is ok, but I would still like to see a 24-hour max processing time.
What can you do at Fanatics Markets? Looking at its prediction markets
I was impressed with the initial range of prediction markets I saw at this site, but it has room for growth, and the operators have stated that they will be adding more categories in the future.
Understanding how Fanatics Markets works
At Fanatics Markets, you are purchasing “yes” or “no” trade contracts relating to different propositions. For example, there might be a proposition stating, “Will the Charlotte Hornets beat the Miami Heat?”. You would then have yes and no options for this, each with a correlating price of under $1.
You can buy yes or no trade contracts at that price, and then either sell them if the price shifts in your favor, or hold them until the event settles. If you hold until the event and you got the prediction right, you’ll get a $1 payout for each trade contract, minus fees.
Available prediction markets
Sports predictions are the main feature of Fanatics Markets, and I feel like this is the most well-developed section. You’ve got markets for the NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, MLS, plus a range of other global sports and events. For the individual games, there’s a solid selection of markets for team and player stats, so you can get pretty detailed with your trade contract selections.
Aside from sports, you also have these categories:
- Political Prediction Markets
- US Presidential Elections
- Culture Prediction Markets
- Economy Prediction Markets
At the moment, this is a limited list, but the operator has stated they will add additional categories including the weather, movies, music, crypto, finance, and current events.
I did not find any signup bonus for Fanatics Markets
There is currently not a signup bonus for Fanatics Markets. I have seen one previously, but this was a special welcome offer that was only live during the Super Bowl event, so it’s wise to look out for major political or sporting events as they might periodically release bonuses.
When offers are available, they can typically be claimed without a Fanatics Markets promo code.
It doesn’t seem to have any other bonuses either
The site doesn’t really have any promotions or bonuses at all. I wasn’t surprised at this though, and I think it’s best to shift expectations for this type of site. Predictions market trading sites are not like online sportsbooks or online casinos. These two types of site usually have loads of promotions. However, this just isn’t the case with prediction markets sites - the emphasis is more about the quality of the trading and the propositions you can purchase trade contracts for.
What’s the usability like for Fanatics Markets?
Usability is pretty important for prediction markets sites, so I spent a good chunk of time testing the desktop website and mobile prediction markets apps. There’s no desktop version of the site, but there are two high-quality apps which I think are better anyway.
The desktop website is just a landing page
This seems to be a common trend with prediction markets sites, but you cannot sign up to Fanatics Markets or browse any of its features via the desktop website. If you load the site, it’s essentially a landing page that aims to teach you about how everything works. It also gives you links to the App Store and Google Play Store app downloads which is useful. I would like to see this changed in the future, as I often use my PC for things like this, but I’m not expecting a desktop version of the site to be added anytime soon.
There is an iOS and Android app
Despite there being no desktop version of the website, you can download the app from either the Google Play Store for Android phones, or the App Store for iOS devices. I downloaded and tested the Android version of my Samsung Galaxy phone, and the iOS version on an iPhone. If you’ve used any other Fanatic products before like their Fanatics sportsbook or Fanatics online casino, you’ll be familiar with the black, red, and white color scheme used on the prediction markets app.
I found it incredibly easy to use, and I like the navigation they use that allows you to switch between the different prediction markets categories like culture and economics. The actual layout of the individual propositions and their related pick options are really well thought out too - you should quickly be able to understand the different options and current prices. It’s clear that a lot of thought and effort has been put into creating a high-quality mobile trading experience.
Final verdict - is Fanatics Markets a top contender?
I had a lot of fun creating this Fanatics Markets review and I think it already sits right up there with the top dogs in the industry. You’ve got a high-quality mobile app, a decent range of prediction market categories, and a simple trade contract system with a low fee structure. The site is legit too, and regulated by the CFTC which is essential, and other things like customer support, security, and transparency are as I expect.
I do think there’s room for improvement in terms of prediction market variety, but they have already stated additional categories like weather, movies, music, crypto, and current events will be coming soon. Right now though, you’ll definitely get a great trading experience here, so all that’s left is to use the banners I’ve put on this page and get signed up.
