What are crypto 5 minute markets?
You may have been seeing headlines everywhere talking about crypto 5 minute markets, but what does it mean? Well, these headlines are referring to a five minute period in the market where you can predict exactly what’s going to happen to the price of crypto. So for example, you may want to predict whether the price of Bitcoin will go up or down in the next five minutes. You can do this at prediction markets by trading contracts based on a specific question. This is all very similar to crypto 15 minute markets, with the main difference being that it takes place over a five minute period.
For example this could be ‘will Bitcoin be above or below $60,000 in 5 minutes?’. You would then either choose Yes indicating that you think the price will be higher, or No, indicating that you think the price will be lower. The price per contract will be reflective of the probability that other users believe each outcome will happen. So if predicting Yes is $0.85 for this Bitcoin 5 minute prediction then this means that other users that have also traded on this contract believe there is an 85% chance of the price of Bitcoin increasing to over $60,000 in the next five minutes.
How do 5 minute crypto markets work?
As you can imagine, the process for trading contracts on these five minute markets is quite fast. A new market will open every few minutes and then you will have a limited amount of time to decide whether you'd like to trade before it closes. Once the countdown ends, you then wait the full five minutes and at this point the market will settle.
If you predicted the correct outcome, then you receive your payout, and if not, then you don’t. So the rules are pretty much the same as far as prediction markets go with the only real differences being the speed at which everything takes place.
Why are 5 minute crypto markets so popular?
The main reason that these 5 minute crypto markets are growing in popularity is because everything happens quite quickly. This means that you don’t need to wait days or weeks for the trades to settle. In five minutes time you’ll know whether you made a correct prediction or not and then you can move on.
The format of the 5 minute crypto prediction is very simple too regardless of the format. You’re basically just choosing whether you think a price will go up or down. There are new markets opening constantly so you don’t usually have to wait long to find a contract that you’d like to trade, or a topic that you’re interested in, to put it another way.
So if you like the idea of fast-paced trading then making Ethereum 5 minute predictions it could be for you. If you prefer the slower pace, and taking your time with everything, then it’s perhaps best to stick with the usual prediction markets.

Once again, the Polymarket 5 minute markets crypto trade available when we last looked was focused on whether the price of Bitcoin would go up or down.
This is a very common cryptocurrency, so it’s no surprise that so many of the available predictions focus on it. Polymarket shows the total amount traded on a specific market in the bottom left hand corner, which is very helpful to look at when considering the price of contracts.
Robinhood: Grab a bonus stock
Robinhood is a site that’s been around for a while, but only recently stepped into the prediction market space. But you can still find a few key areas to trade contracts on, one of which is crypto. We found that the 5 minute crypto markets tend to refresh regularly, but there is usually only one running at once. This isn’t unusual at all and in fact, we think it to be a good thing so that users are not overwhelmed with too many quick decisions to make.
Robinhood even has a unique welcome offer whereby you can pick up a bonus stock worth between $5 and $200. The main catch here is that you, of course, can’t just go ahead and sell that stock. But you do have the option to turn it into credit to then use across prediction markets.
Underdog: Make desktop and mobile predictions
Both the Underdog app and website follow the same sort of aesthetic, making it very easy to move from one to the other. Everything in this platform is all kept in one place and the markets are arranged into handy categories. This makes it easy to navigate straight to the crypto section and start scrolling through the available markets. The ‘Track’ tab even makes it super easy to keep an eye on your trades.
Even though Underdog allows you to predict the price of crypto, you can’t use it to make deposits with this site. In fact, the only supported payment methods are debit cards, Trustly and Apple Pay. Although there are no fees associated with making deposits, which we always see as a positive.
Trading derivatives involves risk and may not be appropriate for all. For more information visit: https://www.nadex.com/rules and https://underdogfantasy.com/rules. For Crypto.com Predictions, the term "pick" refers to a product traded on CDNA.
PrizePicks: A unique prediction market
PrizePicks is an interesting prediction market as it offers multiple products inside the same app. What we’re focusing on here though is the PrizePicks Predict which is where the even contracts are held. Here you can select all of your individual yes/no contracts, including 5 minute crypto markets. Although there is a welcome offer for the Player Picks side of the platform, we couldn’t find one for PrizePicks Predict specifically.
