The Word On Secret Oath
May 16: In her last run against the boys (Arkansas Derby), Secret Oath got a bad trip and was stuck between two rivals. Going into the first turn, she was near the back of the pack and two or three paths wide. At the half-mile mark, she was pushed back to last. However, she gained ground quickly to third, but never got within two lengths of Cyberknife, who won the race. Many consider her the second-best horse in that race given her rough trip.
The next time around, she raced against fillies in the Kentucky Oaks (G1) and won the race from the one post.
