After being edged out by 80-1 Rich Strike in the Kentucky Derby, Epicenter looks to capture a major victory at Pimlico on Saturday. He’s the favorite, which is expected to carry to the starting gate. Behind him is the lone filly running in the Preakness, Secret Oath. Fillies have recent success at the Preakness, most recently Swiss Skydiver in 2020.
Derby winner Rich Strike will not run in this race and therefore there will not be a Triple Crown winner this year. Only three horses that ran in the Kentucky Derby are also running in the Preakness.
