FanDuel is a market leader in online sports betting nationwide and is expected to continue this trend in Ohio.

Through Hollywood Casino Toledo, DraftKings holds market access in Ohio. This sportsbook also gained conditional approval by the Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) to offer odds statewide. The mobile app will be accessible to all players following the official launch.

Penn Sports Interactive’s popular sportsbook Barstool Sportsbook, in partnership with Hollywood Casino Columbus, is offering its sportsbook to locals in Ohio. This marks the 13th market to see Barstool active and the strong sports state that is Ohio will surely be a major stomping ground for stoolies. Barstool Sportsbook will be offering its odds statewide through its mobile app.

There could be as many as 25 mobile sportsbooks in Ohio from day one. The casinos and sports teams with those licenses can apply for a second skin if they can demonstrate to the OCCC that the second skin will incrementally benefit Ohio.

Ohio Launch Imminent

The sports betting market in Ohio is on pace to launch smoothly, as lawmakers are working towards the big day. The OCCC has been taking extra steps to allow for a successful launch and is working tirelessly to ensure there are no issues across the three different sports betting license types that are simultaneously launching. The OCCC has approved approximately 1,700 betting licenses already.

“Our team in Ohio is putting an enormous amount of hours in trying to help these vendors and everyone get to the process,” said June Taylor, OCCC Chair. “It’s an inordinate amount of work.”

All roads are heading towards a successful sports betting launch in Ohio. The launch will give locals plenty of time to bet on the remainder of the NFL season leading into Super Bowl 57. This is an exciting time for Ohio sports betting fans.
