Fenway Bowl betting
Last year, Boston College beat SMU, 23-14, as +12.5 underdogs. It was SMU's final game as a member of the American Athletic Conference before joining the ACC and playing Boston College as a conference member (winning 38-28). Under 50.5 points quickly cleared with just 37 combined here. Rain and temperatures around 40º stifled any hopes of offense.
The debut Fenway Bowl was between Cincinnati and Louisville. The Cardinals easily beat the Bearcats, 24-7, as both teams had no coaching staff. Scott Satterfield, who spent 2022 as Louisville's coach, left for foe Cincinnati. The Cards covered as -2.5 favorites, and even the low 38.5-point total was too high. Unders in this bowl game are off to a 2-0 start.
The Fenway Bowl was set to debut in 2020 but was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, a matchup between SMU and Virginia was also canceled due to COVID-19 issues on the teams' part.
