The Fenway Bowl is set to kick off during the 2022-23 College Football Bowl Season on Dec. 17 at 11:00 a.m. ET. The game is held at historic Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox, in Boston. Malik Cunningham and the Louisville Cardinals (7-5) accepted a bid to play the Cincinnati Bearcats (9-3) in this year’s game. Below, we’ll look at Fenway Bowl odds and bowl history.

Someone fire up the Sickos Bowl Game of the Year. In a surprising move, Cincinnati hired Scott Satterfield to place a departed Luke Fickell (Wisconsin). What makes this game a bit awkward is that Cincinnati hired Satterfield away from… Louisville, their bowl game opponent and former Big East conference rival. Cincinnati leads the all-time series 30-22-1.

In place of Fickell, defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs will coach the Bearcats. They will also be without their top two receivers Tyler Scott and Tre Tucker in this game.

After opening as a 3.5-point underdog, Louisville is now a favorite despite their coach being lured away. A likely culprit is a swath of opt-outs and the announcement that injured starting QB Ben Bryant will not be available for the game.

Malik Cunningham opted out of this game after declaring for the NFL Draft. His decision bumped the line again down to a PK. In his place is Brock Domann, who played the majority of the final three games for the Cards. This season in four total starts, Domann has three passing touchdowns to five interceptions and led Louisville to a 2-2 record.

Keep an eye on the weather, which is forecasting highs in the mid-30s with a persistent chance of snow or mixed winter precipitation.

Overall, there’s a ton of unknowns in this game. Bettors on either side are wise to wait for their best number; likely, this number will continue to move and may even flip again closer to kickoff.

Notable Opt Outs

Cincinnati: CB JQ Hardaway, WR Tyler Scott, WR Tre Tucker, TE Josh Whyle, OC Jake Renfro

Louisville: QB Malik Cunningham, RB Ti’Yon Evans, CB Kei’Trel Clark, WR Tyler Hudson
