Birmingham Bowl betting

Last year, Duke (-7) beat Troy, 17-10, in a low-scoring defensive affair without head coach Mike Elko. Lined at exactly seven points, the spread pushed. Under 44.5 points hit, with just 27 combined points.

In 2022, East Carolina upended Coastal Carolina, 53-29, as 7.5-point favorites. Even the lofty 66.5-point over/under wasn't enough, as the over cleared comfortably. Coastal Carolina was without head coach Jamey Chadwell, who took the job at Liberty, and several key players.

The American has won four out of the last six matchups outright, with every win being over a Power Five opponent.

Favorites are 9-5-3 all time in the Birmingham Bowl; unders are 12-3-1 all time. In fact, an over didn't cash for the first seven iterations of the bowl game.
