How to bet on the Cincinnati Bengals

Moneyline

A moneyline bet is the simplest bet there is, since it is decided by the straight-up winner and loser of each game. This means the points scored don't come in the play, and whoever wins, wins, and whoever loses, loses. Below is an example:

The Bengals are considered underdogs in this matchup (indicated by +210), paying out $310 total for a $100 bet ($210 in winnings). The Patriots are the favorite in this matchup, requiring a $125 bet to win $100 (plus the initial bet back). The final score doesn't only matters in terms of deciding who has won or lost, the actual numbers of points scored isn't significant.

Cincinnati Bengals odds: Point spread

When you make a point spread bet, it matters how many points a team wins or loses by. The favorite will have a negative number and the underdog with have a positive number.

Here's an example:

This example shows the Rams to be the favored team and the number shows they are favored by 4.5 points. If the Rams win the game 22-17, the Rams (-4.5) win the bet and would have a total payout of $19.09 on a $10 bet ($9.09 in profit) because the points difference is greater than 4.5.

If the Bengals keep the game within four and lose 23-20, the Bengals (+4.5) would win, and the payout would be the same as listed above because the points difference is smaller than 4.5.

Cincinnati Bengals odds: Point total (over/under)

When betting on points total (or over/under betting), this is something set by the books and projects the total number of points scored in a game. So if there's a projected points total of 49.5 and the game's end result is 22-24, the game's point total is 46, meaning anyone who betted "under" will have won.

Cincinnati Bengals odds: In-play and live betting

Betting while the game is already happening is referred to as "in-play" or "live betting". These types of bets can have an added thrill since NFL Odds are always changing, especially while the game is in-play. Take this example: if the Bengals (-225) were favored against the Texans (+190) before kickoff, a payout on a $10 bet on the Bengals to win would win just $4.44.

But if during this example, the Bengals had a large deficit at 17-3 in the first half despite winning the game odds may swing and the Texams might be a -110 favorite at halftime. For the Bengals to make a comeback and win the game might bring plus-odd, let's say +130. If a bettor bets on Cincinnati (+130) at halftime and they manage to make a comeback and win, winners would collect $13 instead of $4.44 (plus the stake).

Cincinnati Bengals odds: Parlays and teasers

If you like to string bets together for the potential of a bigger win, parlays and teasers can be a good option. Parlays allow you to be on several teams to win and if they all do, you will receive a payout that is more than just making a single bet.

Similarly, teasers also let you string bets together, but they allow you to move the point spreads to a more favorable line which diminishes the odd slightly.

How do Bengals points spreads work?
These types of bets show how many points the Bengals are expected to win or lose by. They are expressed as a + or - number, which mean different things. The team with the "-" in front of the number is the favorite to win, and they have to win by more than that number to win the bet. So if the Bengals down for -2.5, they need to win by 3 or more points for the bet to be won.
