Collins suffered a hamstring injury in Week 5 of the season. Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans initially indicated that the injury was “week to week,” so all signs point to Collins’ stint on injured reserve as more of a precautionary measure.

How long will Collins be out?
It is unclear of the exact nature of Collins’ hamstring injury. With a hamstring strain, it only takes 1-2 weeks to recover. It seems more likely that Collins simply suffered a hamstring strain and that him being placed on IR was the Texans being cautious.
A grade 2 hamstring strain, which is also known as a partial tear, takes 3 to 8 weeks to recover from.
