The second week of the 2026-27 NHL season rolls on and that brings us to my top anytime goal scorer props for Thursday, October 8. There are eight games on the schedule, including some interesting interconference tilts.

We’ll see the Utah Mammoth in action as they travel to Beantown to face the Boston Bruins. In addition, the Toronto Maple Leafs visit Sin City to face Mitch Marner and the Vegas Golden Knights. Elsewhere, the Minnesota Wild heads to the Sunshine State to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning. Let’s take a look at our favorite anytime goal scorer props.

Best Anytime Goal Scorer Props Today (Oct. 8)

Goal Scorer Prop #1: Dylan Guenther, Mammoth

We’ll start our goal scoring props with an interconference game as the Utah Mammoth travel to take on the Boston Bruins. We’ll go to FanDuel here to get the odds for this prop.

Utah is lighting the lamp at a fast and furious pace in the opening 10 days of the season. The Mammoth rang up 17 goals in their first four games, an average of 4.25 goals a night. While Nick Schmaltz leads the team with five goals so far on the year, Guenther is right on his heels.

In the first four games of the year, Guenther has three goals and three assists for six points. In addition, he fired 17 shots on goal in those contests. Shockingly, all of his points have come with the man advantage. Utah converted eight of their 13 power play opportunities (61.5%) to this point of the season. Meanwhile, the Bruins are eight of 11 (72.7%) in the penalty killing department.

After 40 goals last year and a strong start to 2026/27, I’m backing Guenther to find the back of the net again.

Goal Scorer Prop #2: Auston Matthews, Maple Leafs

For our second goal scorer prop, we head to Las Vegas, where the Toronto Maple Leafs travel to take on the Vegas Golden Knights in an interconference tilt.

Toronto opened the season with four straight home games and went 2-2-0 in those contests. The Maple Leafs rallied from a 3-0 hole to beat Nashville 5-4 in overtime Tuesday night their last time out. Who scored the winning goal in that contest? You got it, Auston Matthews and for good measure, he added three assists.

Matthews scored for the second straight game and now has two goals and three assists for five points. One can point at the fact that Vegas surrendered just 10 goals in the first four games. However, the one team they faced that was good offensively saw Anaheim score four goals. Matthews is clicking right now and there’s a good ROI on this one. Take Matthews to dent the twine again here.

Goal Scorer Prop #3: Artturi Lehkonen, Avalanche

We’ll take a swing through Cowtown for our next play as the Colorado Avalanche face the Calgary Flames. The odds here are courtesy of Hard Rock.

Now, I get Colorado is playing the second game of a back-to-back situation here. The Avalanche fell 3-2 to Winnipeg Wednesday night. On the plus side, they’re getting a crack at a Flames team that seems completely disinterested in playing competent hockey. In addition, it wasn’t as if the Avalanche played bad hockey Wednesday as they outshot Winnipeg 34-19 in the contest.

Now, while most people may chase Nathan MacKinnon, his near-even odds are a little too steep for me to chase. As a result, we’ll target one of his wingers in this contest. Artturi Lehkonen is off to a strong start for Colorado. He has three goals and one assist to his credit in the first three games of the year. Playing on the top line alongside MacKinnon and Martin Necas gives him plenty of opportunities.

In addition, each of his five shots in the first two games before Wednesday were high-danger chances. With that in mind, coupled with the fact that the Flames are dead last in goals allowed per game (5.33) and 30th in save percentage (.817), Colorado gets a ton of chances. Lehkonen buries one of them to cash this prop.

Best Bet: Artturi Lehkonen, Anytime Goal Scorer Hard Rock, +195

Goal Scorer Prop #4: Jack Eichel, Golden Knights

We close out look at potential anytime goal scorer props back in Sin City with the Maple Leafs taking on the Golden Knights.

Vegas is off to a hot start offensively this season. The Golden Knights piled up 17 goals in their first four games, scoring at least three goals in each contest. Meanwhile, they’re facing a Toronto squad that is tied for 16th in goals against (2.75) but 21st in save percentage (.895) on the year.

Jack Eichel had a hand in 10 of the Golden Knights’ 17 goals this season (58.8%) with two goals and eight assists. He assisted on all five of Vegas’ five power play goal to date this season. Eichel has eight shots on goal in the first four games, though he does have 19 shot attempts. In addition, he has 18 goals and 14 assists for 32 points in 23 career games against Toronto.

While Eichel took playmaking duties in the early going, look for him to shoot here.

Best Bet: Jack Eichel, Anytime Goal Scorer FanDuel, +175
