It’s the opening week of the 2026-27 NHL season, and that brings us to my top anytime goal scorer props for Friday, Oct. 2. There are five games on the schedule, including a pair of Original Six matchups.

We’ll see the defending champions in action as the Florida Panthers face the Carolina Hurricanes. We’ll also see the New York Rangers head to Beantown to face the Boston Bruins. Elsewhere, the Montreal Canadiens take on the Toronto Maple Leafs. Let’s take a look at our favorite pitcher props.

Best Anytime Goal Scorer Props Today (Oct. 2)

Goal Scorer Prop #1: Cutter Gauthier, Ducks

We’ll start our goal scoring props with a game between Pacific Division squads as the Anaheim Ducks travel to take on the Vegas Golden Knights.

Both sides have plenty of weapons in this contest. After all, the Ducks were 13th in the league in scoring during the regular season last year (3.23 goals per game), while the Golden Knights were 14th at 3.22 goals per game. Vegas was fourth in postseason scoring (3.45 goals per game), while Anaheim was seventh with 3.25 goals per game. In this one, we’re backing Cutter Gauthier, who was explosive for the Ducks last season.

Gauthier racked up 41 goals and 28 assists for 69 points as the former fifth overall pick doubled his goal production from the season before. Last season, Gauthier had two goals and an assist in three regular-season tilts with the Golden Knights. He followed that up with five assists in the six-game playoff series against Vegas.

With another year of experience under his belt, Gauthier gets better. Watch for him to spearhead the Ducks’ offensive attack.

Goal Scorer Prop #2: Jason Robertson, Stars

For our second goal scorer prop, we head to the Lone Star State, where the St. Louis Blues travel to take on the Dallas Stars in a Central Division tilt.

Jason Robertson had a big year for the Stars last season. He finished tied with Wyatt Johnston for the team lead last season with 45 goals. In addition, Robertson added 51 assists for 96 points. Now, why back Robertson over Johnston? That’s a legitimate question, but Johnston scored 27 power-play goals last season. Only three players have reached that mark in the last two decades.

Robertson is a bit more rounded offensively and can play in all facets of the game. He put up at least 35 goals in each of the last five seasons. In addition, he’s cracked the 40-goal plateau three times in that stretch. Robertson has averaged a point per game (7 goals, 11 assists in 18 career regular-season games) against the Blues. Playing at home, Dallas is aggressive offensively, and he finds a way to dent the twine.

Best Bet: Jason Robertson, Anytime Goal Scorer FanDuel, +140

Goal Scorer Prop #3: David Pastrnak, Bruins

I know I backed him in Tuesday’s opener and he failed to deliver. The Boston Bruins are on the road to take on the Winnipeg Jets Friday night, and I expect David Pastrnak to deliver.

Pastrnak is in the prime of his career. He’s posted at least 100 points in four straight seasons entering the 2026-27 campaign. He's also scored at least 34 goals eight times in his 12 years in the league. That includes five seasons where he cracked the 40-goal plateau.

While Pastrnak tallied just 29 goals last season, he did add 71 assists for 100 points. The Bruins face a Jets squad that was tied for 21st (allowing 3.12 goals per game) in goals against last season. However, the Jets don’t have former Vezina Trophy winner Connor Hellebuyck between the pipes as he’s suspended after failing to report to camp. Instead, Stuart Skinner is in net for Winnipeg.

In addition, Pastrnak enjoys squaring off with the Jets. In his career, he’s faced Winnipeg 19 times, tallying 14 goals and dishing out 11 assists for 25 points. He had four shots on goal and finished a +1 in the opener against the Rangers. With the talent that he brings to the table, look for Pastrnak to light the lamp here for the Bruins.

Best Bet: David Pastrnak, Anytime Goal Scorer FanDuel, +150

Goal Scorer Prop #4: Pavel Dorofeyev, Rangers

We close out by looking at potential anytime goal scorer props in the Motor City as the New York Rangers take on the Detroit Red Wings.

Now, this marks the Rangers’ third game in four nights to open the season and the second game of a back-to-back. With that said, it’s easier to play the back half of a two-game set when you win the night before, which the Rangers did, beating Tampa Bay 5-1. Pavel Dorofeyev was a big acquisition by the Rangers in the offseason and was signed to a seven-year extension. He’s looked good in the first two games of the season. Dorofeyev had five shots on goal Tuesday night against Boston. Meanwhile, he had a goal and an assist on five shots against Tampa Bay Thursday night. We know that Dorofeyev can score, as he had 37 goals in the regular season last year. He followed that up with 12 goals and four assists in 22 playoff games.

With Detroit finally opening their season here, there may be a little rust. Take Dorofeyev to tally in the Motor City.

Best Bet: Pavel Dorofeyev, Anytime Goal Scorer FanDuel, +195
