NHL Anytime Goal Scorer Predictions Today: Best Bets for Oct. 19

As we head into the back half of October, the NHL season rolls on and that brings us to my top anytime goal scorer props for Monday, October 19. There’s a quiet four-game slate on the board, with plenty of action to keep you glued to the TV.
We’ll see the Anaheim Ducks head to the Big Apple and the most famous barn of them all as they face the New York Rangers in the first game of the night at 7 pm ET. Elsewhere, Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche take on Matvei Michkov and the Philadelphia Flyers at 7 pm ET. There’s also a big interconference clash between the San Jose Sharks and the Toronto Maple Leafs at 7:30 pm ET. Let’s take a look at our favorite anytime goal scorer props.
Best Anytime Goal Scorer Props Today (Oct. 19)
Goal Scorer Prop #1: Nathan MacKinnon, Avalanche
We’ll start our goal scoring props with an interconference tilt as the Colorado Avalance travel to take on the Philadelphia Flyers. We’ll go to DraftKings here to get the odds for this prop.
Colorado is second in the league as they put up an average of 4.50 goals per game on the year. Meanwhile, the Flyers are 19th in the league by surrendering 3.30 goals per contest entering this one. MacKinnon is off to a scorching start to the season as he has six goals and 10 assists for 16 points in the Avalanche’s opening eight games.
MacKinnon tallied a goal in five of his eight games on the year and has at least one point in six contests. He had a goal and three assists in the 5-2 win over Pittsburgh Saturday night. Dan Vladar comes in 1-3-1 with a 3.58 GAA and an .889 save percentage on the year. I’ll trust MacKinnon, even at even money, to find a way to light the lamp.
Best Bet: Nathan MacKinnon, Anytime Goal Scorer DraftKings, +100
New DraftKings Customers: Bet $5, Get $200 + 3 Months of NBA League Pass! Goal Scorer Prop #2: Auston Matthews, Maple Leafs
For our second goal scorer prop, we head to the 6ix, where the San Jose Sharks travel to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs in an interconference tilt. The odds for this prop are courtesy of FanDuel.
While a lot of attention will be focused on the top two picks in this year’s draft, Gavin McKenna and Ivar Stenberg, there are plenty of big names that can score in a hurry here. Matthews is one of those guys. After struggling with injuries last season and missing the last month of the season with a MCL injury, Matthews looks more like his old self this year.
Matthews has six goals, seven assists and 13 points on the season. In addition, he scored in five of his last seven games. He has 27 shots on goal and 48 shot attempts on the season. San Jose is tied for 23rd in goals against by allowing 3.50 per contest.
Alex Nedeljkovic (2-0-1, 2.20 GAA, .920 save percentage) is projected to start for the Sharks. Matthews has 14 career goals in 16 games against the Sharks. The veteran leads the charge offensively for Toronto at home.
Best Bet: Auston Matthews, Anytime Goal Scorer FanDuell, +120
Goal Scorer Prop #3: Macklin Celebrini, Sharks
We’ll stick with the same game as above as we find an option on the opposite side of the Sharks/Maple Leafs game here.
Macklin Celebrini is a major reason that the Sharks took a massive step forward last season. The former first overall pick is clicking right now. He missed a week with a knee injury but dented the twine in three of the last four games.
For the year, Celebrini has three goals and eight assists for 11 points in six games. Toronto has struggled keeping the puck out of their own net in the early going this season. The Maple Leafs are tied for 21st by allowing 3.44 goals per game. Celebrini has 17 points (five goals, 12 assists), including eight power play points, in his last 10 games.
With plenty of offense forecast for this one, look for Celebrini to be involved here.
Best Bet: Macklin Celebrini, Anytime Goal Scorer FanDuel, +125
Goal Scorer Prop #4: Nick Schmaltz, Mammoth
We’ll close out our look at anytime goal scorer props with the Pittsburgh Penguins taking on the Utah Mammoth. The odds for this prop are courtesy of FanDuel.
Pittsburgh plays their third game in their third different city on the road in four nights here. The Penguins dropped six of their last seven games entering this one. In addition, they gave up 16 combined goals in their last three games, all defeats.
Utah is a deadly team on the power play, racking up a dozen goals as they convert at a 35.3% success rate. Schmaltz is a major factor there as he leads the league with four power play markers already on the year. Overall, he has six goals and five assists for 11 points in nine games. Meanwhile, Schmaltz has 29 shots on goal and 36 shot attempts.
Pittsburgh is struggling defensively as they are 26th in the league by allowing 3.56 goals per game. In addition, they are 11th in penalty killing by navigating 83.3% of their shorthanded situations. Schmaltz capitalizes, perhaps with the man advantage, to dent the twine here.
Best Bet: Nick Schmaltz, Anytime Goal Scorer DraftKings, +160
