The NFL doesn't waste any time delivering a marquee betting matchup in Week 1. New England and Seattle meet Wednesday night in a Super Bowl LX rematch, and the game offers far more than just the traditional spread and total. Seattle enters as a 3.5-point favorite, but New England has added talent around Drake Maye and should be motivated after how last season ended.

With an over/under of 44.5, this game also sets up nicely for bettors looking to attack player props and parlays instead of simply picking a side. The expectation here is a competitive, offense-driven matchup with both teams creating enough volume for several individual markets to come into play.

My overall Patriots vs. Seahawks prediction is an upset. I'm expecting New England to win by six points, so a great moneyline play, in a relatively high-scoring matchup, with the game going Over 44.5.

That outlook also creates several interesting player prop and parlay opportunities.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 82 Receiving Yards (-111)

Let's start with one of the NFL's premier receivers.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba exploded for 1,793 receiving yards last season while averaging more than 100 yards per game. Even a relatively high number of 82 yards isn't enough to scare me away.

In fact, my expectation that New England wins could actually help this bet. If the Patriots play from ahead or keep pressure on Seattle throughout the night, Sam Darnold should have to continue throwing deep into the fourth quarter. Smith-Njigba remains the obvious focal point of the passing game and can clear this number with only a handful of explosive receptions.

Pick: Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 82 Receiving Yards (-111)

Sam Darnold Longest Rush Over 5.5 Yards (-107)

This is the type of quarterback prop I like because Darnold doesn't need to suddenly become Lamar Jackson. We need one scramble of six yards.

New England should try to generate pressure and force Darnold off his spot. If coverage holds up downfield, there should be at least one opportunity for him to tuck the ball and take the free yardage available in front of him.

It's essentially a bet that one play breaks correctly over four quarters.

Pick: Sam Darnold Longest Rush Over 5.5 Yards (-107)

Jadarian Price Over 53 Rushing Yards (-110)

Seattle spent the final pick of the first round on Jadarian Price for a reason.

The rookie averaged 6.0 yards per carry during his final season at Notre Dame, and his opportunity has grown entering Week 1. With Seattle leaning on Price as a major part of its backfield, there should be enough volume available for him to threaten this number.

Even if New England is leading, Seattle doesn't need to abandon the run immediately. Price should receive enough early-down opportunities to threaten 54 yards, and his explosiveness gives him the ability to knock out a large portion of this number on one carry.

Pick: Jadarian Price Over 53 Rushing Yards (-110)

NFL Parlay Pick: Both Quarterbacks Throw an Interception (+265)

The first parlay attacks both quarterbacks, despite them both being MVP-caliber players.

Odds: +265

This lines up nicely with my broader Patriots vs. Seahawks prediction because I'm expecting an aggressive, high-scoring game between two projected playoff teams. More passing attempts create more opportunities for mistakes.

Seattle intercepted Maye twice in the Super Bowl and consistently put him under pressure. New England will undoubtedly have a better plan Wednesday, but that doesn't mean Maye plays mistake-free football.

On the other side, if the Patriots jump ahead as I'm predicting, Darnold could eventually be put into obvious passing situations. That's exactly when defenses have opportunities to create turnovers.

We don't need either quarterback to have a bad game. One mistake each turns this into a +265 winner.

Pick: Maye & Darnold Each to Throw an INT (+265)

NFL Touchdown Parlay: Stevenson & Price (+333)

The second parlay goes straight to the running backs.

Parlay Odds: +333

Stevenson is particularly appealing with TreVeyon Henderson ruled out because of an ankle injury. Stevenson scored nine total touchdowns last season and should be one of New England's primary options near the goal line.

Price has a chance to immediately take on a significant rushing role for Seattle. Rather than trying to predict which receiver Darnold targets near the goal line, I'm taking the rookie back to convert one of his opportunities.

Both offenses scoring at least a few touchdowns fits perfectly with an Over 44.5 game script.

At +333, we're getting better than 3-to-1 odds simply asking both lead backs to find the end zone once.

Pick: Stevenson & Price Anytime TD Parlay (+333)

Best Wednesday Night NFL Bets

The theme across the card is offense.

My Patriots vs. Seahawks prediction remains New England by six with the game clearing 44.5 points. That creates a script in which both quarterbacks are forced to make plays, Seattle continues feeding Smith-Njigba, and both backfields receive scoring opportunities.

The straight props offer several ways to attack that script individually, while the two parlays provide considerably more upside for bettors looking for plus-money action to open the NFL season.
