The final game of NFL Week 1 brings a divisional matchup with plenty of intrigue as the Denver Broncos travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs on Monday Night Football. Both teams enter the season with legitimate Super Bowl expectations, but there are also plenty of unknowns given the timing of the matchup.

Patrick Mahomes and Bo Nix are both coming off injuries, Kansas City has a new lead back in Kenneth Walker III, and Denver will be looking to build on a season in which it established itself as one of the AFC’s most dangerous teams. That combination of talent, uncertainty and Week 1 volatility creates several interesting prop and parlay opportunities.

MNF Week 1 NFL Player Props

Our card starts with three individual player props before getting into two plus-money parlays. All odds for these three props are via DraftKings.

Xavier Worthy Over 35.5 Receiving Yards (-109)

Xavier Worthy has always been the type of player who can cash a receiving prop with one play. That’s exactly why 35.5 yards is appealing.

Worthy’s speed makes him one of the NFL’s premier vertical threats, and Kansas City should continue looking for ways to get him involved beyond just one or two deep shots per game. If his role expands even modestly this season, 36 receiving yards is a very manageable number.

Kenneth Walker III Over 15.5 Rushing Attempts (-130)

Kenneth Walker III makes his Chiefs debut Monday night, and I expect Kansas City to lean on him heavily. Walker should immediately step in as the lead back, and there are multiple reasons the Chiefs may want to establish the ground game. Mahomes is returning from injury, it’s Week 1, and Denver’s pass rush can create problems if Kansas City becomes too one-dimensional.

Rather than asking Walker to hit a rushing-yardage number, this bet is simply about volume, which is around 15.5 carries on most sports betting apps.

Patrick Mahomes Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (+110)

Even if the Chiefs lean more heavily on the rushing attack, I’m still willing to back Mahomes to throw multiple touchdowns. There aren’t many quarterbacks in football I’d trust more in this spot.

If this game turns into a back-and-forth divisional battle, Kansas City is eventually going to put the ball in Mahomes’ hands near the goal line. At plus money, asking him to throw two touchdowns is worth the risk.

MNF Week 1 NFL Parlay Picks

Now onto a pair of two-leg parlays with upside.

MNF Parlay: Both Quarterbacks Throw an Interception (+253)

One of my favorite MNF Week 1 NFL parlay picks attacks the uncertainty surrounding both quarterbacks.

Parlay Odds: +253 via FanDuel

This doesn’t require either quarterback to play poorly. Both Nix and Mahomes are coming off injuries, and Week 1 can naturally produce sloppy football as offenses work through timing issues and defenses throw new looks at quarterbacks.

Denver also has the type of pass rush that can force Mahomes into mistakes, while Kansas City’s defense should have chances to pressure Nix. One interception from each quarterback turns this into a winner.

MNF Touchdown Parlay: J.K. Dobbins & RJ Harvey (+881)

The biggest plus-money swing on the card comes from Denver’s backfield.

Parlay Odds: +881 via BetMGM

Denver has two backs capable of making an impact around the goal line, and both should have opportunities if the Broncos offense moves the ball effectively. Dobbins brings experience and proven red-zone ability, while Harvey gives Denver another explosive option who can score without needing massive volume.

The odds are obviously long, but that’s what makes this one appealing. We’re essentially betting Denver generates enough scoring chances for both backs to find the end zone once.

This card is built around the expectation that Monday night gives us some Week 1 chaos without becoming a complete offensive struggle. Walker should see volume, Worthy only needs one or two big plays, and Mahomes remains more than capable of throwing multiple touchdowns.
