You've found my best Bills vs. Texans prediction for Sunday's Week 1 showdown! For my NFL picks today, I'm looking at the game total, Josh Allen player props, and much more. Let's dive into my favorite Bills-Texans picks for today!

Bills vs. Texans Prediction for Sunday, Sept. 13

Buffalo is favored on the road, with lines varying slightly by book. DraftKings has the Bills at -118 on the moneyline and Houston at -102. The total sits at 44.5 across multiple books, including DraftKings Sportsbook.

I'm siding with the under 44.5 total points as my top Bills vs. Texans prediction.

Fading a Josh Allen-led team never feels comfortable. He's capable of erasing a sack with one scramble or one signature red-zone keeper and flipping a game on its head. But this matchup has real reasons to expect a lower-scoring, defensive-minded game. Allen has never won a game in Houston, going 0-4 there across the regular season and playoffs, and he's 1-4 against the Texans overall in his career.

Houston's front, led by Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr., gives the Texans a legitimate way to disrupt Allen without selling out in coverage. Houston also added David Montgomery to its backfield, giving the offense another option to control tempo and limit Buffalo's possessions.

Buffalo also ran the ball at the fourth-highest rate in neutral situations last year under Joe Brady, and I can't imagine he'll want to change up his approach too much in Week 1. That should help keep the clock moving and the possession count down.

Given Allen's track record in this building, Houston's new ability to lean on Montgomery, and the strength of the Texans' defensive front, I like the under to hit in a game that could look more like a defensive struggle than a shootout.

Best Bet: Under 44.5 DraftKings, -105

Bills vs. Texans Player Props Today

For my favorite prop in this Bills vs. Texans matchup, I like Josh Allen 7+ rushing attempts on DraftKings.

Allen's rushing floor comes from more than just scrambles. Quarterback sneaks count. Designed keepers count. Short-yardage calls count. The Texans' unbelievable pass rush could push that scramble total higher as well. With Hunter and Anderson bearing down on the edges, Allen may be forced to climb the pocket and run or roll out and improvise more often than he'd like.

Best Bet: Josh Allen 7+ Rushing Attempts DraftKings, -119

Bills-Texans Anytime Touchdown Props

David Montgomery is the favorite in the anytime touchdown market as Houston's likely workhorse, with James Cook and Josh Allen close behind. Allen remains an intriguing look given his built-in paths to the end zone through the running game, especially in a contest I expect to stay tight and physical throughout.

Here are some notable touchdown prop prices on DraftKings:

Nico Collins is Houston's top threat through the air again in 2026. He'll have to shoulder even more work after the Texans lost second-year riser Jayden Higgins to a season-ending injury this summer.

Collins' price to score a touchdown on DraftKings is decent value against a Bills defense with a few new pieces on the outside. However, the fact that his price is so far north of even money makes me feel even better about the game total staying under for us.
