Tennessee Titan's player L'Jarius Sneed stands on the sidelines as the Blackman band takes the field before the start of the football game between Blackman and Oakland at Blackman on Friday, Sept 26, 2025.

L'Jarius Sneed's legal troubles are officially behind him. Dallas-based criminal defense attorney Michael J. Todd announced Tuesday that all criminal charges against the former cornerback have been dismissed, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Charges Dropped Against NFL Free Agent L'Jarius Sneed

Sneed was originally charged with aggravated assault, which was reduced by a grand jury to the misdemeanor offense of failure to report the commission of a felony. The state of Texas dismissed the misdemeanor completely on Friday, leaving Sneed without a conviction or admission of any kind, according to Todd.

"All criminal charges against his client, former Chiefs and Titans cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, have been dismissed," Schefter reported on X.

Sneed was a standout cornerback with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2020 through 2023. He won two Super Bowls during his tenure in Kansas City. Sneed parlayed that success into a mega contract with the Tennessee Titans entering the 2024 season, but the move never panned out the way anyone hoped. Injuries derailed his time in Tennessee, limiting him to just a dozen games over the last two seasons. He is currently an NFL free agent.

Will an NFL team take a shot on the 29-year-old before training camp opens this summer? Sneed has shown the ability to be one of the better corners in the league. Despite obvious health concerns, there figures to be some interest as rosters take shape heading into the fall.

The dismissal clears a significant hurdle for any team considering signing him. Sneed may have to settle for a "prove-it" type of contract if he wants another shot in 2026. As training camp begins and injuries pile up across the league, a desperate team will likely give Sneed a phone call.
