Caleb Williams Returns For Bears’ Sunday Matchup With Falcons

The Chicago Bears are getting their quarterback back. Caleb Williams will start Sunday’s road game against the Atlanta Falcons, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Sunday morning. Williams returns after missing three games with a hamstring injury suffered against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2.
Chicago survived without him. Now, the Bears get a chance to build on their 3-2 start with their franchise quarterback back under center.
Williams Gets Through Practice Without A Setback
Williams practiced fully throughout the week and took the starter reps, putting him on track to return as long as he avoided a setback over the weekend. None was reported, clearing the way for his first appearance since late September.
That’s a welcome development for a team that’s already leaned on three quarterbacks through five games.
Case Keenum and Tyson Bagent helped Chicago go 2-1 during Williams’ absence. Keenum started the Week 3 victory over Philadelphia, while Bagent handled the next two contests. They kept the Bears afloat, but Williams’ return gives coach Ben Johnson his preferred starter again.
Chicago avoided placing Williams on injured reserve, leaving the door open for this week’s comeback.
Bears, Falcons Look To Keep Moving Forward
Caleb Williams returns with Chicago still firmly in the NFC mix rather than trying to rescue a season that slipped away without him.
Sunday’s kickoff in Atlanta is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. The Falcons enter at 2-3, giving both teams an opportunity to improve their early-season position. Check out the Falcons vs.Bears odds now that there's confirmation of Williams playing today.
