JAYLEN WADDLE PLAYER PROP: OVER 64.5 RECEIVING YARDS (-110)

  • Best available line: O/U / ()

With Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) back under center, Waddle went for 88 yards against a solid Steelers defense last Sunday night to easily top his prop of 58.5 receiving yards. The Alabama product is now averaging 108 receiving YPG while catching 23 of 35 targets when his former college teammate is the starter. Waddle is averaging 18.5 yards per catch in those games, and this week, he’s facing a Lions team that yields the second-highest average yards per catch (7.7) on the season. Detroit ranks 31st in DVOA pass defense and Miami ranks fourth in yards per pass (7.7) while passing at the fifth-highest rate (63.9%) this year.

Waddle and Tyreek Hill are seeing the highest target share of any receiver duo in football right now. The Lions can only put former No. 4 overall pick Jeff Okudah on one of those stud WRs and right now it looks like Waddle will run most of his routes at Amani Oruwariye while Okudah tries to contain Hill. Oruwariye ranks 82nd among CBs in average target separation allowed (2.5) and he’s giving up 14 yards per catch. The last time the Lions played a home game they gave up 384 passing yards to Seattle with Geno Smith averaging 10.7 yards per carry.

Tagovailoa is projected for 271.5 passing yards in this contest and a good chunk of that production should go to Waddle.
