Here are Week 7 lines to consider taking action on.
Denver Broncos (-2.5) at New Orleans Saints (+2.5)
The Broncos easily covered the point spread with a 33-10 win over the Saints. Denver versus New Orleans went over the 37.0 total.
New England Patriots (+5.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (-5.5)
The Patriots took the leap of faith with Drake Maye by affording him his first NFL start against an aggressive Texans defense. The move was validated despite a 41-21 loss as Maye threw three TDs and compiled 281 total yards.
Jacksonville couldn’t come close to leveraging its “second home” in London against the Bears. They took a 35-16 loss to Chicago and saw Travis Etienne exit the game in the second half with a hamstring injury. Jacksonville may be better prepared for this second straight London matchup considering there isn’t any travel involved and the opponent is of lesser caliber. The total for this game opened at 43 points.
“There are reasons to hate both sides but you have the travel advantage of all travel advantages with the Jags staying in London,” said Stephen Andress on TheLines NFL Monsterpod. “We don’t have a sample of what that means, but it can’t be good. It’s not a good spot for the Patriots on that alone. But the Jaguars are a dumpster fire.”
Tennessee Titans (+9) at Buffalo Bills (-9)
The Titans continued to struggle coming out of a bye. Will Levis actually looked like he regressed while throwing for under 100 yards in a 20-17 loss to the Colts. The fact he failed to hit No. 1 receiver Calvin Ridley on any of his eight targets encapsulates how dire the situation is for Tennessee’s air attack. The total for Tennessee versus Buffalo was initially set at 42 points.
“The total has come down a little bit. That would have been my preference when betting this game but now we’re kind of getting low,” said Ryan Noonan on TheLines Monsterpod. “I don’t think there’s going to be enough passing efficiency on either side to challenge and I don’t think either team really wants to do that.”
Cincinnati Bengals (-4.5) at Cleveland Browns (+4.5)
The Bengals surprisingly struggled on offense a week after racking up 38 points against the Ravens. Cincinnati managed to only score 17 points against the Giants on Sunday night, but it proved enough for a much-needed win.
The Browns also struggled offensively again. Unfortunately for Cleveland, it was par for the course. Deshaun Watson once again failed to throw for 200 yards or a touchdown in the 20-16 loss to the Eagles and could eventually be supplanted by Jameis Winston. The total for the game opened at 43 points.
Miami Dolphins (+4) at Indianapolis Colts (-4)
The Dolphins were on bye but still won’t have Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) back from injured reserve for this road matchup. Tyler Huntley figures to draw at least one more start and could show improvement after another week of absorbing the playbook.
The Colts surprisingly decided to sit Anthony Richardson (oblique) out one more game in and saw it pay off. Joe Flacco led a 20-17 win over the Titans despite not having Jonathan Taylor (ankle) for a second straight game. The total for this game opened at 43.5 points. It is expected that Richardson will resume the controls under center for Indianapolis.
“There’s not going to be too much of a sway if Richardson plays over Flacco because Flacco has looked decent. We have them, at this point, at about the same rating,” said BetMGM’s Christian Cipollini. “I wouldn’t expect too much movement. Maybe down to 3. We’ve taken a little bit more Colts action [so far].”
Philadelphia Eagles (-3.5) at New York Giants (+3.5)
The Eagles still look far from fixed but had enough to top the hapless Browns by a 20-16 score. Jalen Hurts had the benefit of having both A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith back from injury and each player found the end zone.
The Giants did an admirable job defensively and Tyrone Tracy continued to look like quite the rookie find in a narrow Sunday night loss to the Bengals. Yet, a week after surprisingly scoring 29 points against the Seahawks, New York could only muster seven against a highly questionable Cincy defense. The over under for this game opened at 43.5 points
Houston Texans (+3) at Green Bay Packers (-3)
The Texans had a couple of stumbles against the Patriots. However, C.J. Stroud’s three touchdown passes and Joe Mixon’s return from a multi-game absence led the way to a 41-21 win.
The Packers didn’t have much trouble with the visiting Cardinals. Green Bay thumped Arizona by a 34-13 score with Jordan Love’s four touchdown passes leading the way. An ankle injury suffered by Jayden Reed could be a lingering concern, however. The total for Houston versus Green Bay opened at 47.5 points.
Detroit Lions (+1.5) at Minnesota Vikings (-1.5)
The Lions handed the Cowboys their worst home loss since Tom Landry’s 1988 swan song. They throttled Dallas by a 47-9 score while compiling 492 total yards. Detroit had the luxury of resting all front-line players for the majority of the fourth quarter ahead of this critical divisional battle.
The Vikings were on bye following a London victory over the Jets that pushed Minnesota to a 5-0 record. However, the status of Aaron Jones (hip) will be worth monitoring during the week. The total for this game opened at 49.5 points.
Seattle Seahawks (+3) at Atlanta Falcons (-3)
The Seahawks came up short against the 49ers in a divisional clash. Seattle’s defense continued its downturn by giving up 36 points after allowing 29 and 42 to the Giants and Lions, respectively, in the two prior games.
The Falcons got more of a fight from the Panthers than they may have bargained for. However, they emerged with a 38-20 win during which they piled up just under 200 rushing yards. The total for Seattle versus Atlanta was initially set at 50.5 points.
Las Vegas Raiders (+5.5) at LA Rams (-5.5)
The Raiders’ swoon continued on Sunday with an embarrassing 32-13 home loss to the Steelers. The QB switch to Aidan O’Connell didn’t have an appreciable impact. But, they had to operate without both Davante Adams (hamstring) and Jakobi Meyers (ankle).
The Rams were on bye in Week 6 after back-to-back single-digit losses to the Bears and Packers. Los Angeles is expected to have Cooper Kupp (ankle) back for this game. Puka Nacua (knee) is expected to need one more week. The total for the game opened at 43.5 points.
Carolina Panthers (+7.5) at Washington Commanders (-7.5)
The Panthers continued rolling with Andy Dalton at QB and put up a good fight against the Falcons in a 38-20 loss. The defense’s ongoing struggles nullified a solid offensive effort.
The Commanders couldn’t quite conquer a tough road matchup against the Ravens. They took a 30-23 loss. Jayden Daniels compiled a career-high 269 yards and two TDs. The total for the game opened at 52 points.
Kansas City Chiefs (+1.5) at San Francisco 49ers (-1.5)
The Chiefs were idle after their 26-13 win over the Saints pushed them to 5-0. San Francisco got a much-needed divisional win over the Seahawks this past week. Jordan Mason did suffer a shoulder injury in the game and Christian McCaffrey isn’t yet ready to return in Week 7. Rookie Isaac Guerendo could therefore have a chance to follow up on his 99-yard showing. The total for the game opened at 46.5 points.
New York Jets (+1.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers (-1.5)
The Steelers erased a two-game losing streak with a 32-13 thrashing of the Raiders. Russell Wilson was active for the first time but saw Justin Fields manage the game effectively and contribute two rushing TDs. The total for NYJ vs. PIT began at 36.5 points
Baltimore Ravens (-4.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+4.5)
The Ravens were able to turn back the challenge of Jayden Daniels and the Commanders in a hard-fought Week 6 battle. Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and Zay Flowers once again led the way for Baltimore in a 30-23 win.
The Buccaneers saw Baker Mayfield offset three interceptions with four touchdown passes and the Bucky Irving-Sean Tucker backfield duo thrive in a wild win at New Orleans. Tampa Bay’s defense will get its toughest test of the season against Baltimore, however. The total for the game has opened at 48.5 points.
LA Chargers (-2.5) at Arizona Cardinals (+2.5)
The Chargers came out of the bye with a hard-fought win over the Broncos. Justin Herbert and J.K. Dobbins once again led the way for Los Angeles in a balanced effort.
The Cardinals couldn’t carry over the momentum of an upset over the 49ers. They were routed by the Packers on the road, 34-13. Marvin Harrison Jr. exited the game with a concussion that puts his status for this game in doubt. The total for the game started at 43.5 points
