Chiefs At 49ers: NFL Week 7 Odds

Odds below are the best current prices across NFL betting sites. Find opening odds further down in this post.

Defenses largely dominated when these teams faced off in Las Vegas in February. The game reached 47 points, thanks to nine in overtime, but the offenses struggled most of the day.

More offense is expected this time around, even with key players out for both sides. The 49ers will likely be without RB Christian McCaffrey, while top Patrick Mahomes target WR Rashee Rice is out for the year.

The 49ers lost S Talanoa Hufanga to an injury, adding to their defensive woes (Javon Hargrave is already out for the year). K Jake Moody also doesn’t seem likely to be back, putting the special teams in jeopardy.

The Chiefs, meanwhile, enter in a nice situational spot off their bye. That will be somewhat mitigated by San Francisco getting to play on Thursday in Week 5, however. They’ll have extra rest of their own.

Andy Reid and Kyle Shanahan make for a tantalizing clash of offensive masterminds, but the Chiefs staff has appeared to have the number of their counterparts in this matchup. Reid and the Chiefs are 4-0 against Shanahan and the Niners. The two Super Bowls came down to the final possessions, but the regular season affairs have been dominating K.C. victories, 38-27 (2018) and 44-23 (2022).

What do the Chiefs at 49ers Opening Odds mean?

Adjusted for the sportsbook vig at best prices, San Francisco has a 51% implied win rate.

Chiefs at 49ers Week 7 Odds

The 49ers opened as short favorites here, befitting a Super Bowl contender at home against another one, even if the Chiefs do get the rest advantage. Andy Reid has famously been nearly unbeatable coaching after a bye week, so look out for the Chiefs to come in prepared with a first-half game plan.

One thing to monitor in Week 6 will be the 49ers’ kicking game. They brought in a replacement-level kicker in Matthew Wright. If he looks shaky, and the 49ers opt to be more aggressive on fourth downs, that could introduce some additional variance into their future games.

San Francisco’s offense should look good in Week 6 against an injured Seahawks defense that’s gotten wrecked in two weeks running. If they do so, we could see this line lengthen slightly, but it seems unlikely that 49ers odds hit the key number of -3. There was significant support for them this week, but the defending champs will garner more respect.
