On Monday Night Football in Week 6, the 2-3 Denver Broncos head to Los Angeles to try and save their season in an AFC West battle with the Chargers (3-2). LA is a spread favorite and on the moneyline. Broncos Chargers odds have an over/under of .

With Brandon Staley having taken a risk last week and the Chargers holding on to beat Cleveland, the Chargers are hoping for a less stressful game against the Broncos.

Broncos Chargers Odds: Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under

Just use the dropdown menu to toggle between the type of bet you want, and then make sure you’re getting the best price when you bet.

Broncos vs. Chargers Betting Insights

Reasons The Broncos Can Cover The Spread

Any chance for the Broncos to cover this game starts with the Broncos’ 4th ranked defence by DVOA neutralizing the Chargers. The Broncos got back on track defensively last week, giving up no touchdown to the Colts in Week 5.

The other way they cover this game is if the Broncos can get some yards against the Chargers’ bad run defence – 22nd by DVOA, 28th by PFF. If the Broncos can get Melvin Gordon going, they might be able to finally get into an offensive rhythm.

Why The Chargers can cover the spread

The Broncos offence is a disaster – Russ is 22nd in the NFL by EPA/play, their best running back is out for the season, and they have the worst Red Zone offence in the league. Without Javonte Williams, the Broncos won’t be able to slice through the porous Chargers run D in the same way Nick Chubb did last week.

On the other side, the Chargers have finally hit their stride offensively – 9th in DVOA, Justin Herbert is up to 10th in EPA/play. Their running game still isn’t great, but the Broncos can be run on, which might help take pressure off the passing game – as might the fact that Denver can get into ruts defensively.

Reasons to bet the over

The Broncos could score a defensive touchdown, which would speed up the game. When the Broncos fell behind against the Raiders, they did actually run a high play offence, and if that can happen again, then Denver’s offence might put up the points they need.

The Chargers have conceded 24 and 28 points the last two weeks to offences led by Davis Mills and Jacoby Brissett, so a Russell Wilson led offence should be able to score enough points to push this game over the low total.

Reasons to bet the under

The Broncos are a good team for betting unders – they have a horrible offence so far this season, but their elite defence leads to lots of stops. If this game looks more like the Colts game from Week 5, then the Chargers will have a hard time scoring at ease.

If these two offences struggle to make big plays land, then there will be a big opportunity for the under to hit as long drives end in Field Goals and lots of time draining off the clock.

Broncos vs. Chargers Props: Matchups To Watch For

Melvin Gordon Anytime Touchdown:

Gordon got 15 carries in Week 5 after Javonte Williams got hurt. Against his former team, Gordon getting into the end zone against the bad Chargers rush defence would make sense. That it would also feed Gordon’s rivalry against his former team makes it even more possible.

Russell Wilson Passing Yards: O/U / ()

If the Chargers get ahead of the Broncos, then they’re going to need Russ to finally start cooking. Russ has gone over this total the last two weeks, and if the Chargers force this game to speed up, it’ll make Russ chuck enough that he should hit this number.

Final Thoughts

The Broncos just aren’t good at this point on offence, which is a huge problem. Wilson looks to be a huge anchor around the Broncos offence, and without Javonte, the Broncos just end up running bad, predictable offence.

The Chargers are inconsistent – their penchant for playing close games hurts their ability to cover a spread at -4.5. Of their 3 wins, none have been by more than 7 points, and their one win that would cover this number was a 5 point win in Week 1.

If the Chargers can get Herbert in rhythm early, then the Broncos will be in deep trouble. The Broncos struggled against the Raiders when they fell behind. If the Chargers can get ahead, nothing about the Broncos season suggests they can fight back.

It’s unclear how good the Chargers are, but it’s pretty clear what the Broncos are – and unless Russell Wilson stops doing a Drew Lock impression, what they will remain. Best of luck handicapping Broncos Chargers odds.
