In this article, we break down everything you need to know before placing a bet, including team matchups and key metrics.

Chargers at Browns Odds: Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under

By accessing this odds table, you can use the drop down menu to look at the different types of bets you can place.

Betting on the point spread means you are betting on how many points a team will win or lose by. For example, if you were to bet on the Chargers point spread(-3), you would be betting on them to win by four or more. If they were to lose by three the bet would push. If you were to bet on the Browns to cover the point spread (+3), you are betting on them to win or lose by less than three. A three-point loss would also result in a push.

Betting on moneyline is just betting on which team you think will win the game.

Betting on the Over/Under allows bettors to decide whether or not both teams will reach a combined point total. Betting the over would mean you think they will combine for more than the listed total. While betting the under would mean you think they will combine for fewer points.

Chargers at Browns Betting Insights

Why the Browns can Cover the Spread

The Browns look to bounce back at home after suffering a three-point loss in Atlanta. Jacoby Brissett has looked like a fine placeholder for Deshaun Watson and their dynamic running back duo has been great. The Chargers are also riddled with injuries. Star LB Joey Bosa and starting OT Rashawn Slater have both been placed on IR, and WR Keenan Allen and K Dustin Hopkins are both questionable. With the Chargers missing multiple key players in key positions, the Browns could pull off the win (or at least cover the spread) at home against their west coast opponent.

Why the Chargers can Cover the Spread

The Chargers come into this matchup at 2-2 on the season, but 3-1 ATS. While the Browns are 2-2 ATS they have played teams with a combined record of 25-42 in 2021. With Jacoby Brissett at the helm, the Chargers will be more focused on stopping Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt in the run game. Los Angeles, who gives up 109.8 rushing yards per game, has the second-best rush defense the Browns will have seen so far this season. The only better team is the Jets who give up one less yard and are a team that covered and won outright against the Browns. The Browns could also be missing some key players on their defense as DE Myles Garrett and DE Jadeveon Clowney are questionable to play, and starting LB Anthony Walker Jr. is on IR.

Reasons to Bet the Over

Heading into this game Browns overs are 3-1 and Chargers overs are 2-2. Both teams are missing key players on defense and more could be ruled out before the game. The last time these teams met in 2021, the score was 47-42.

Reasons to Bet the Under

The Chargers have been above average against the run this season (Cleveland’s best option on offense) and Keenan Allen (Herbert’s best receiver) is questionable. Cleveland is coming off a game where they only scored 20 points against a poor Atlanta defense. While the Chargers have put up high point totals this season, they only scored 10 points against the Jaguars at home. Just like the Jaguars did, if the Browns can limit Mike Williams’ production (in the event Allen is out again), this game could go under.

Chargers at Browns Matchups to Watch For

Browns RB Nick Chubb vs. Chargers Run D

Chubb is second in the NFL in total rushing yards and is averaging 114.75 rushing yards per game. The Chargers defense has given up the 14th-fewest rushing yards in the league at 109.8 yards per game. However, without Joey Bosa in Week 4, the Chargers gave up 131 rushing yards to rookie Dameon Pierce on an outstanding 9.36 yards per carry. If the Chargers defense cannot figure out how to stop the run with Bosa on IR, Chubb could be in for a big game.

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler vs. Browns Defense

Ekeler has been great this season both in the run game and pass game. He has 140 rushing yards and two TDs as well as 27 receptions for 188 yards and one TD. When the teams met up last season, Ekeler had 66 rushing yards and two TDs to go along with five receptions for 53 yards and one TD. If Keenan Allen is out he will need to have another standout performance against the Browns for the Chargers to win. On top of all this, the Browns have key defensive players that are questionable to play on Sunday.
