Falcons Bucs Odds: Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under

When using this Falcons Bucs odds table, click the dropdown menu and select the type of bet you wish to make.

Betting the point spread is when you wager on how many points a team will win or lose by. A plus sign in front of the spread means the underdog, and a minus sign denotes the favorite. In this case, the Bucs would have to win by at least 11 points if you bet them to cover the point spread (-10). A spread bet on the Falcons would win if Atlanta wins the game or loses by less than 10. A Bucs win by 10 would result in a push and wagers refunded.

Betting the moneyline is simply betting on which particular team will win a game.

The betting total is the number of combined points the two teams will score. Bettors can choose to bet the over or under on how many total points will be scored in the game.

Falcons At 49ers Betting Insights

Why The Bucs Can Cover The Spread

The Buccaneers are coming off their worst defensive performance of the year, but also their best offensive performance in a 41-31 loss to Kansas City. Combine that with two blowouts over this Falcons coaching staff last year and Atlanta missing Patterson and Pitts, two key offensive weapons, and it’s easy to see how Tampa Bay could win by double digits.

Why The Falcons Can Cover The Spread

It’s a big spread. If you believe the Pitts and Patterson injuries are not significant enough to move this line to double digits, then there is theoretical value on backing a division underdog at double digits.

Atlanta also appears improved versus preseason expectations. Prior to Week 1, their win total was 4.5, the lowest in the NFL. That number has moved to 5.5 (Over -170/under +140 on Caesars Sportsbook), although they are still underdogs in every game this season. All of Atlanta’s games so far have been decided by four points or less.

Reasons To Bet The Over

Last week on Sunday Night Football, the Super Bowl LV rematch accounted for 72 points. Tampa Bay will face a much weaker defense this time around and is healthier at WR than it has been all season long. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and at least one of Julio Jones and Russell Gage should play.

Reasons To Bet The Under

The Bucs failed to score more than 20 points in each of their first three matchups, while holding opponents to a league-low 9 points per game. The under hit in all three of those games.

Even after allowing 41 points last week, the Bucs still have one of the highest-rated defenses in the NFL. They have given up just 5.6 yards per attempt this season, sixth-best in the league. Tampa Bay also has an elite pass rush, with its 14 sacks ranking fourth in the NFL. Defensive end Akiem Hicks is out. Otherwise, the Buccaneers defense should be healthy against a banged up Atlanta offense.

Plus, the Falcons won last week 23-20 despite a poor offensive performance. Marcus Mariota completed just seven passes out of 19 attempts, throwing for 139 yards and an interception. Atlanta’s ground game picked up the slack, rushing for more than 150 yards and two touchdowns, something that will be a lot tougher to duplicate against Tampa Bay.

Falcons At Bucs Matchups To Watch For

Falcons RBs vs. Bucs DL: With Cordarelle Patterson (IR, ankle) ruled out for at least the next four weeks, Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley are expected to get most of the Falcons’ rushing opportunities. The rookie Allgeier put up 84 yards on 10 carries, mostly after Patterson got hurt. Marcus Mariota has relied heavily on dump-offs to his running back both in Atlanta and throughout his career, so Allgeier and Huntley will need to catch some passes out of the backfield in order to combat the loss of Patterson.

  • Allgeier scrimmage yards: O/U / ()

Tom Brady vs. Falcons secondary: Atlanta’s defense has allowed 25.2 points per game, sixth-worst in the NFL. They have played a relatively easy schedule so far, with their wins coming against New Orleans and Seattle. The Falcons rank in the bottom 10 for passing yards allowed, rushing yards allowed, and points allowed. They have also allowed a 69.1% completion rate so far this season, fourth-worst in the NFL. On a positive note, they have benefitted from forcing turnovers, with the eighth-most takeaways in the league.

Tom Brady put up his best stat line of the season last week, throwing for 385 yards and 3 TD. Most of that performance came with the Bucs trailing by multiple touchdowns, but it was a step in the right direction for Brady and the offense. Tampa Bay still ranks towards the bottom of the league with 6.8 yards per pass attempt.

While Brady has been consistent since a poor performance in the season opener, his receiving core has been the opposite. However, the Bucs should finally have all their offensive weapons on the field Sunday against Atlanta, with Evans, Godwin, and Leonard Fournette all healthy and expected to play.
