Matt Brown’s NFL Week 3 Bets & Picks: Once More Into The Will Levis Fray

nfl week 3 bets

We’ve had complete chaos in the NFL through two weeks. Most survivor pools have been decimated. We’ve lost Tua Tagovailoa, Isaiah Pacheco, Deebo Samuel, and Jordan Love; plus, Bryce Young got benched. Sixteen more weeks of this? Sure, why not? Here are the picks I’m looking to get down in my betting apps for NFL Week 3 bets.

Matt Brown’s NFL Week 3 Best Bets & Picks

Bears at Colts

I think there’s a real chance Anthony Richardson is just bad. And with that, the Colts could be one of the most disappointing teams in all of the NFL. Known as an erratic passer coming out of college, Richardson has picked right up where he left off at Florida. There are flashes of brilliance, but the inconsistent play is going to be too much for this defense to overcome.

Looking at their schedule after already being in the hole at 0-2, I don’t think this team wins more than seven games. I’ll be looking to fade the Colts any chance that makes sense. This week is not one of those chances.

Eagles at Saints

I played the Eagles +3 on the road at New Orleans this week. Nick Siriani made the worst coaching decision of the season so far and handed the game to the Falcons. I still have the Ealges power rated higher than the Saints, and based off my numbers (even with AJ Brown out), a full FG is too much here.

The Saints got the hapless Panthers in Week 1 and nailed some big plays early against the Cowboys to totally change the complexion of that game. I need to see it again to finally believe it. There’s just no way for this offense to come close to sustaining this efficiency.

Plus, we’ll see what this Saints run defense looks like when the Eagles offensive line and Saquon Barkley roll into the Big Easy. I’m prepared for Klint Kubiak to prove me wrong, but based on where I have both of these teams positioned, I had to bet that the FG with the Eagles.

Broncos at Buccaneers

I played some Broncos +7 earlier in the week, and I think you might get the opportunity again to grab them at the full TD if you so choose sometime before kickoff.

The Bucs held the Lions to one TD on seven trips to the redzone last week, a stat that is surely to regress. They’ll likely be without Vita Vea and Antoine Winfield on that side of the ball, which should ease the burden on Bo Nix. And dare I say that Nix started to look a little bit better toward the end of the game last week?

Given the injury situation for the Bucs, I’m not sure they should be laying 7 to anyone at the moment.

Packers at Titans

Big consensus among TheLines.com staff on this one.

I shoved a Titans -1.5 vs. Packers in my account when the line plummeted, and I hate myself for it. I am almost certain Jordan Love is not going to play in this game, and despite how terrible “Bill Levi’s” has been, he might not have to do much of anything.

Malik Willis won last week. Malik Willis is still not a threat. They’re going to give the backs about a hundred touches and hope that’s good enough to squeak out a win. The sad part is that it might be.

49ers at Rams

I think there’s a nonzero chance the Rams will trade Matthew Stafford and let him ring chase somewhere if this thing falls off the rails in L.A. in the next couple of weeks. How much more would you like the Raiders, the Titans, or even the Browns (if Cleveland decides to bench Watson) or the Dolphins (should Tua decide to sit the rest of the season) if Matthew Stafford was under center?

There are already some very soft suggestions it’s a possibility. So if becomes actual rumors, we need to be ready to act.

Matt Brown’s NFL Futures Market Thoughts

Pretty much everything is open for business. We are a very long way from crowning an MVP, offensive rookie of the year, or even some of these division winners.

If you liked a bet preseason but the odds were too short, go find that bet and see if you like it now.

There’s been a massive amount of movement in the futures and awards markets, and there is value to be found (hello, Joe Burrow +850 Comeback Player). Take some time to sift through the various markets out there and see if any of the bets you wanted to make but didn’t are worth the investment now.
