Hitting on the optimal DFS lineup is a thrill matched by few others. Last weekend, those who found room for values like Brandon Aiyuk and Kendrick Bourne were rewarded handsomely. But for many, hitting on those value DFS lineup picks can be a game of blindfolded darts. To aid with finding those diamonds in the rough, let’s take a look at NFL props and betting markets for this coming weekend slate.

Be sure to read up on the top DFS games to target, first. We’ll be targeting high point totals, positive game scripts, and prop markets to locate our top plays and value picks.

DFS Lineup Picks: Elite Staple Plays

Christian McCaffrey, RB, 49ers

There’s a reason McCaffrey is the highest-priced player week in and week out. Against the Rams, CMC is lined for a ridiculous rushing and receiving yards combined. Since entering the league in 2017, he’s been a cheat code in fantasy football. As the year progresses, McCaffrey likely becomes more expensive. As long as he’s manageable in salary, he’s a weekly fixture.

Kyle Shanahan historically dominates Sean McVay (9-4 record) and the 49ers‘ offense rolls. With a team total set at 26.5 points, San Francisco’s offense is yet again an enticing unit to target. As a road favorite, the game script is also exceedingly favorable for McCaffrey to get more work on the ground.

49ers at Rams Over/Under: Over

Calvin Ridley, WR, Jaguars

dfs lineup picks JAX

Despite being absent from football for the last year-plus, Ridley returned to the field and was the immediate go-to target for Trevor Lawrence. He sucked up 11 targets – including five on the first drive alone – and found the end zone early on. When targeting Ridley, Lawrence recorded a 131.8 passer rating. Although a one-game sample size, Ridley is clearly the alpha on a team projected to score a bunch of points and throw the ball often. Last year, the Jaguars threw the ball on more than 59% of their offensive snaps, 12th-most in the NFL.

BetRivers Sportsbook projects Ridley for as high as 73.5 receiving yards (Over -112) and Bet365 lines him for 5.5 receptions (Over -130). To aid in his production, Chiefs at Jaguars odds carry the highest over/under on the week.

DFS Lineup Picks: Value Plays

David Montgomery, RB, Lions

Jahmyr Gibbs will loom large over Montgomery’s prospect all season long. After all, the Lions drafted the Alabama rookie 12th overall and promised he’d see a literal lion’s share of the snaps this season. But in Week 1, it was the Montgomery show, especially near the goal line. He out-carried Gibbs 4-1 in the red zone and tripled the rookie up 21-7 on carries. Until Dan Campbell proves he’s going to feature Gibbs over Montgomery, the veteran seems to be the more savvy DFS play.

Most importantly, Montgomery isn’t priced like a feature back. He’s a great choice in both cash and Guaranteed Prize Pool (GPP) tournaments to free up salary for top-flight receivers and quarterbacks. With a favorable over/under () and expected positive game script (Lions are home favorites), Detroit’s backfield is a strong bet to target in Week 2.

Best David Montgomery rushing yard prop:
Seahawks at Lions Over/Under:

Joshua Kelley, RB, Chargers

In large GPP tournaments, Kelley is going to be locked into in a huge number of lineups. News broke late Friday that Austin Ekeler is doubtful for Week 2 with an ankle injury sustained in Week 1. In his absence, Kelley received 16 carries – five of which came in the red zone (t-2nd most on the week) – and a bonus target. With Kelley being a low-salary player with one of the biggest roles this week, he’s a lineup must.

Seven games on the Week 2 slate have an over/under at or under 40 points. While points usually aren’t inspiring enough to heavily target offenses from that game, they’re among the highest totals on the week. However, betting markets pulled Kelley’s props as they adjust for the Ekeler injury.

Best Joshua Kelley ATD prop:
Chargers at Titans Over/Under:
