Major Wagers In The Football World
Remember, this post is for informational and entertainment purposes only. We advise not to just blindly follow bets published that have large dollar amounts, as sportsbooks sometimes take the largest bets from non-professional bettors.
The Cowboys surely put the sports betting world on notice with its 40-0 dominating performance against the New York Giants. Even prior to the game, however, one fan had the foresight to jump on their +1600 Super Bowl odds at Caesars Sportsbook before they shortened after Sunday Night’s performance.
The Cowboys’ odds have shortened to +1100 since the game. If the Cowboys win it all this season, this bettor would cash in $1.7 million ($1.6 million profit).
“Before the game, we took a $100,000 bet on the Cowboys 16-1 [+1600] to win the Super Bowl,” said Adam Pullen, assistant director of trading for Caesars Sports. “Right now, we’re at 11-1 [+1100]. Obviously, last night made a big impression [on us]. Is it that Dallas is great or that the Giants are that poor? But that’s definitely an impressive win, to shut out that team.”
Not only with NFL betting has football fans placed massive wagers. A fan placed a $1 million bet at FanDuel on the Deion Sanders Colorado Buffaloes to cover -2.5 against Nebraska. The Buffaloes covered, granting the bettor a $909,090.91 payout.

BetMGM Divisional Futures After Week 1
Divisional odds shifted after Week 1. There are now new favorites going into Week 2 in multiple divisions. A stand out is the AFC East with the Miami Dolphins coming in as the favorite. Before kickoff, Miami had +300 odds and was the third favorite in the division. Miami put on a major show against the Los Angeles Chargers which impressed sportsbooks and betting fans alike.
