Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Chargers (-3)
The Broncos got off to a slow start before roaring back against the Colts with the power of their standout defense. Bo Nix did look like a rookie with three interceptions in the 31-13 win. He now faces an even tougher challenge in a Chargers defense looking to atone for a subpar performance in Week 15.
That poor effort came against Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers, who shockingly hung up 40 points on Los Angeles. The Chargers did upend Denver by a 23-16 score back in a Week 6 matchup at Mile High and will be looking to catch their division rival in the playoff standings at 9-6.
The game has opened with an over/under of 42.5 points.
Houston Texans (+3) at Kansas City Chiefs
The Texans are unexpectedly road favorites for the time being following their rather unremarkable 20-12 win over the Dolphins in Week 15. Patrick Mahomes suffered an ankle injury late in the Chiefs’ victory over the Browns. The star signal-caller is considered week-to-week. A Carson Wentz-led K.C. offense would naturally be much less intimidating.
Ironically, Mahomes’ injury came in a game during which his team finally achieved his desired objective of winning in relatively convincing fashion. However, his absence against a quality unit like Houston’s would almost certainly lead to another nail-biter, with the real possibility of a loss.
The game has opened with an over/under of 40 points.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens (-6)
These two teams’ Week 15 assignments were nowhere close in terms of difficulty. But Pittsburgh’s projected chances in this second matchup of the season between the AFC North rivals nevertheless took a bit of a hit with its 27-13 loss to the Eagles. George Pickens missed a second straight game with his hamstring injury. A confirmed return for this game would likely have at least a slight impact on the line.
The Ravens took care of business as expected against the hapless Giants by a 35-14 score. Lamar Jackson posted his second five-touchdown-pass tally of the season. Due to the caliber of opponent, it’s difficult to gauge how much weight it carries.
The game has opened with an over/under of 45 points.
Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals (-7.5)
The Browns fell to 3-11 with a 21-7 loss to the Chiefs, one that saw Jameis Winston get benched late for Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Cleveland also lost Nick Chubb to a broken foot, further depleting their skill-position depth.
The Bengals remained in the AFC playoff conversation with a 37-27 victory over the Titans that once again featured pivotal performances from Joe Burrow, Chase Brown, and Ja’Marr Chase, plus solid complementary contributions from Tee Higgins. Offense continues to be the least of Cincy’s problems. The defense allowed Mason Rudolph to throw for 209 yards in less than a half.
The game has opened with an over/under of 48 points.
New York Giants at Atlanta Falcons (-7.5)
The Giants’ nightmare continued in Week 15 with a 35-14 drubbing at the hands of the Ravens. The defense allowed Lamar Jackson to throw for five touchdowns. Meanwhile, the offense lost Tommy DeVito to a concussion, leaving them down to Tim Boyle.
The Falcons will close out Week 15 with a Monday night visit to the Raiders. Atlanta will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak and get back to within a game of the Bucs in the NFC South.
The game has opened with an over/under of 42.5 points.
Philadelphia Eagles (-3.5) at Washington Commanders
The Eagles moved to 12-2 with their 27-13 win over Pittsburgh and saw Jalen Hurts get the air attack going with 290 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Philadelphia has proven capable of winning games in a number of different ways. It already has a 26-18 victory over Washington on its resume this season.
The Commanders escaped with another last-second victory. But Washington has to be somewhat concerned after letting a significantly short-handed Saints team that was down 17-0 come all the way back to get in position for a game-winning two-point conversion before escaping with the 20-19 victory.
The game has opened with an over/under of 45.5 points.
Detroit Lions (-6.5) at Chicago Bears
The Lions certainly didn’t quit until the final onside kick. But they dug themselves too deep a hole in a 48-42 loss to the Bills in Week 15. Detroit and Philadelphia are now both 12-2, and Minnesota could join them with a win over the Bears on Monday night. The Lions also lost David Montgomery and multiple defenders to season-ending injuries against Buffalo, the most serious and damaging aspect of the defeat.
As mentioned, the Bears will face off with the Vikings on Monday night while trying to snap a seven-game losing streak and play spoiler to their division rival.
The game has opened with an over/under of 46.5 points.
Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts (-3.5)
Titans head coach Brian Callahan faced off with old friend Joe Burrow on Sunday. Tennessee managed to pick him off on a couple of occasions, but the defense ultimately faltered in a 37-27 loss. The game may have well marked the end of Will Levis’ tenure as the starting QB. Mason Rudolph replaced him following three INTs and threw for over 200 yards in less than a half.
The Colts and Anthony Richardson started off strong and then tailed off considerably in a 31-13 loss to the Broncos. Richardson once again completed fewer than half his attempts (17-for-38) and threw another pair of picks without a touchdown pass, while Jonathan Taylor saw a TD taken off the board when he let the ball go just before breaking the plane of the goal line.
The game has opened with an over/under of 42.5 points.
Arizona Cardinals (-4.5) at Carolina Panthers
The Cardinals got back on track against a beatable opponent, topping the Patriots by a 30-17 score. James Conner rattled off 110 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and Kyler Murray kept displaying a prolific connection with Trey McBride to get Arizona back to .500
The Panthers were favored for the first time all season against the visiting Cowboys and fell flat, taking a 30-14 loss that saw Bryce Young throw two picks and take six sacks. Carolina is 3-11 and will continue to run its offense primarily through Young, Chuba Hubbard, and Adam Thielen in this potentially exploitable matchup.
The game has opened with an over/under of 47 points.
L.A. Rams (-3) at New York Jets
The Rams continued their remarkable late-season run against the 49ers on Thursday night, clawing their way to a 12-6 win. Puka Nacua continued to stand out with his play despite the low-scoring game and will have an intriguing matchup against the talented Jets secondary here.
New York and the Jaguars engaged in a surprisingly entertaining game in Duval on Sunday. The Jets finally snapped their losing streak, 32-25. Aaron Rodgers had just three completions at halftime but finished with 289 yards and three touchdowns, two of those going on Davante Adams’ ledger as part of nine receptions and 198 yards.
The game has opened with an over/under of 46.5 points.
Minnesota Vikings (-3) at Seattle Seahawks
The Vikings, winners of six straight, host the Bears on Monday night and will try to improve to 12-2 and draw into a three-way tie with the Eagles and Lions for the best record in the NFC.
The Seahawks came into a Sunday night home matchup against the Packers with four consecutive wins and holding first place in the NFC West. However, Seattle finished the night on the wrong end of a 30-13 decision. And Geno Smith is now dealing with a knee injury that he’ll undergo further testing for on Monday.
The uncertainty surrounding the veteran has already resulted in a two-point move in the line from the pregame figure of 4.5, while the total has also come down 2-3 points.
The game has opened with an over/under of 42.5 points.
New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills (-14)
The Patriots fell to 3-11 with their fourth straight loss, a 30-17 defeat at the hands of the Cardinals. Drake Maye was serviceable but unremarkable and continues to spread the ball out fairly evenly among a multitude of targets that mostly lack big-play potential.
That’s certainly not an apt description for anyone on Buffalo’s offense, which put up its second straight 40-plus-point outing in a signature win against the Lions in Sunday’s top game. Josh Allen appears to be running away with the MVP race and sometimes seems to have even more weapons than he needs, considering his ability to create plenty on his own.
The game has opened with an over/under of 46.5 points.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Las Vegas Raiders (-1)
The Jaguars gave the Jets a battle before falling by a 32-25 score in Week 15. Mac Jones continued to demonstrate some improved play with 294 yards and two touchdowns, albeit alongside two INTs. Rookie WR Brian Thomas Jr. was on the receiving end of both scores. The duo could be primed for another big performance against what will likely be a disinterested Raiders defense.
Las Vegas will face the Falcons on Monday night in Week 15, and Desmond Ridder will start at quarterback in place of Aidan O’Connell (knee). The Raiders are 2-11 coming in and could well be underdogs for this game eventually.
The game has opened with an over/under of 40 points.
San Francisco 49ers at Miami Dolphins (-1.5)
The 49ers’ spiraling season saw San Fran fall to 6-8 with an alarming 12-6 loss to the Rams on Thursday night to open Week 15. Brock Purdy completed fewer than half his pass attempts in an uncharacteristically ugly performance. The extra days between games here are likely welcome.
The Dolphins looked no better during a 20-12 loss to the Texans. They also drop to 6-8 and perilously close to exiting the AFC postseason conversation. Jaylen Waddle went down with a knee injury in the first half that reportedly won’t sideline him for the season but could lead to him missing this game. The line has already moved down a point since the pregame number as a result.
The game has opened with an over/under of 46 points.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3.5) at Dallas Cowboys
The Buccaneers walloped what had been a standout Chargers defense by a 40-17 score. Every facet of the offense worked to near perfection. Baker Mayfield threw for 288 yards and four touchdowns, and the Bucky Irving/Rachaad White duo combined for 181 rushing yards.
The Cowboys bested the Panthers by a 30-14 score on the road after going into the game as underdogs. Cooper Rush threw a career-high three touchdown passes and has three multi-touchdown tallies in the last four games. Rico Dowdle continues to look like a legitimate lead back after rushing for a career-high 149 yards.
The game has opened with an over/under of 49 points.
New Orleans Saints at Green Bay Packers (-14)
The Saints continued to show plenty of fight irrespective of the circumstances in Week 15 with a narrow 20-19 loss to the Commanders. Undeterred by a 17-0 deficit and a highly ineffective performance by Jake Haener, New Orleans rallied behind rookie Spencer Rattler. It was a two-point conversion attempt away from securing the victory.
The Packers looked impressive while dismantling the Seahawks by a 30-13 score on Sunday night. Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs once again spearheaded Green Bay, which is 10-4 and in excellent position within the NFC wild-card picture.
The game has opened with an over/under of 42 points.
