Notable NFL INJURIES from WEEK 14
Here’s a roundup of the most notable NFL injuries to monitor before Week 15.
- WR Devin Duvernay
- S Kyle Hamilton
According to head coach John Harbaugh, Duvernay could miss a week or more after suffering a back injury Sunday against the Rams. Tylan Wallace, who had the game-winning punt return for a touchdown in overtime, will likely continue to take over return duties in Duvernay’s absence.
According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton suffered a grade 1 MCL sprain in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Expect Baltimore to proceed cautiously, but Hamilton shouldn’t miss much time, if any.
- S Micah Hyde
- DE AJ Epenesa
The Bills took two more body blows on defense Sunday, losing safety Micah Hyde to a rib injury and defensive end A.J. Epenesa to a rib injury in Buffalo’s 20-17 win in Kansas City. Coach Sean McDermott listed Both players as week to week on Monday.
- RT Dawand Jones
Head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters in his Monday video conference that rookie offensive tackle Dawand Jones is out for the season with a knee injury that requires surgery.
- DT Jonathan Hankins
Hankins suffered a high ankle sprain in the third quarter of the team’s 33-13 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. However, it’s not all terrible, as there’s optimism the 31-year-old won’t be forced to miss extended time.
- QB CJ Stroud
- WR Nico Collins
Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is concussed following Sunday’s hit, forcing him to leave Houston’s 30-6 loss to the New York Jets. Stroud left the game in the NFL’s concussion protocol. Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed Monday that Stroud has been diagnosed with a concussion and that his status for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans is in doubt.
Collins left with a calf injury on the first offensive drive of the game. Stay tuned to Houstons’s practice reports for a status update on the extent of the injury.
Las Vegas Raiders
- RB Josh Jacobs
Raiders running back Josh Jacobs left Sunday’s game with what was reported by the team as a knee injury. In Monday’s walkthrough, he was listed as a non-participant with a quad injury. His Week 15 status remains undetermined.
Los Angeles Chargers
- QB Justin Herbert
Herbert will undergo surgery to repair a fracture to his broken right index finger Tuesday and will be placed on injured reserve, ending his 2023 season, the team announced. He finishes his fourth season with 3,134 yards passing, 20 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
- WR Justin Jefferson
- RB Alexander Mattison
On Monday, head coach Kevin O’Connell said Jefferson is day-to-day after suffering an apparent chest injury in Week 14. There were no immediate updates on Mattison’s status other than his “sprained ankle.” Minnesota plays on Saturday in Week 15, so the timing is not great here.
- QB Kenny Pickett
- OLB TJ Watt
- OLB Alex Highsmith
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Kenny Pickett is out this week. Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt, the team’s two leading sack leaders, are in concussion protocol. Both linebackers are questionable to play Saturday against the Colts.
San Francisco 49ers
- DL Javon Hargrave
- CB Chavarius Ward
Hargrave lasted 28 snaps before suffering a hamstring injury. Kyle Shanahan said postgame that Hargrave likely has a pulled hamstring. Injuries for a hamstring injury can vary depending on the severity. Hargrave could miss three days or three months. There are many outcomes, so it feels useless to speculate until Shanahan has additional information.
The 49ers lost their No. 1 cornerback, Charvarius Ward, to a groin injury that could sideline him for a few weeks. As of Tuesday morning, there is no status update on the extent of the injury.
