Bears at Lions (-10.5)

The Bears unfortunately continued to corner the market on close losses Sunday by dropping a 30-27 overtime decision to the Vikings. Caleb Williams did throw his first TD passes since Week 6 and accumulated 340 passing yards as he continues to demonstrate a better command of interim offensive coordinator Thomas Brown’s schemes than those of the departed Shane Waldron.

The Lions completed a business-like 24-6 road win over the Colts to move to 10-1. Detroit did lose David Montgomery to a shoulder injury during the game. Montgomery has vowed to be ready despite the short week for this matchup against his old team.

The game has opened with a projected total of 48.5 points.

Giants at Cowboys (-3.5)

Tommy DeVito’s ascension into the starting job in place of the waived Daniel Jones did not pay immediate dividends. The fan-favorite second-year QB threw for under 200 yards and didn’t lead New York to a score until late in the fourth quarter of a 30-7 loss to the Buccaneers.

The Cowboys recorded a much-needed and wild 34-26 win over the Commanders that featured a combined 41 fourth-quarter points, with 31 of those coming in the final 3:02. Cooper Rush put together a second consecutive solid performance and certainly has a chance for a third against a Giants team whose motivation levels have to be questioned at this point.

The game has opened with a projected total of 38 points.

Miami Dolphins at Green Bay Packers (-3.5)

The Dolphins made quick work of the Patriots in Week 12 with a prototypical 34-15 home victory. While Tua Tagovailoa, De’Von Achane, Jaylen Waddle, and Jonnu Smith all put together stellar efforts, the cold-weather conditions that often proved to be Miami’s kryptonite await in this Thanksgiving night battle at Lambeau.

The Packers took full advantage of a Brock Purdy-less 49ers team in Week 12 to notch a 38-10 home win. Green Bay moved to 8-3 and is thriving behind a rejuvenated Josh Jacobs in his first Packers season, as well as an improving Jordan Love. However, Love’s talented young group of wideouts will likely be without Romeo Doubs in this short-week matchup after he suffered a concussion Sunday.

The game has opened with a projected total of 47.5 points.

Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs (-13)

The Raiders not only dropped yet another game Sunday against the Broncos – they also lost Gardner Minshew for the rest of the season due to a broken collarbone. That leaves open the possibility it’s Desmond Ridder and Ameer Abdullah helming the air and ground attacks, respectively, in this daunting Black Friday battle.

The Chiefs were nearly upset by the Panthers before escaping with a 30-27 OT win. KC continues to prevail in close games more often than not, however, and should have Isiah Pacheco back from injured reserve for this divisional clash.

The game has opened with a projected total of 42.5 points.

Seahawks (-2) at Jets

The Seahawks defense put on quite a show in a 16-6 home win over the team that came into the game as the NFC West leaders, the Cardinals. Seattle moved into a tie for first with the victory and gets the Cards again in Week 14. That makes this interconference cross-country battle a potential trap game.

The Jets were on bye in Week 12, a brief respite from their 2024 turmoil. Aaron Rodgers and Co. continue to struggle as what looks like a lost season enters its stretch run. New York does have its main skill-position weapons healthy, but there are rumblings Rodgers is dealing with multiple undisclosed injuries.

The game has opened with a projected total of 41.5 points.

Steelers at Bengals (-2.5)

The Steelers weren’t able to overcome blizzard-like conditions and competent play from Jameis Winston and Nick Chubb in Week 12, falling to Cleveland by a 24-19 score for only their third defeat of the season. However, Russell Wilson continued to validate the decision to hand him the keys of the offense by throwing for 270 yards and a touchdown.

The Bengals were off in Week 12 following a tough 34-27 loss to the Chargers on Sunday night in Week 12. Yet, the play of the returning Tee Higgins (9-148-1) and Ja’Marr Chase (two touchdown receptions) was certainly encouraging. Cincy gets quite the defensive test against Pittsburgh, but the week off and home field are conspiring to make them narrow favorites.

The game has opened with a projected total of 47.5 points.

Indianapolis Colts (-3) at New England Patriots

After looking much improved in his Week 11 return to the starting job, Anthony Richardson went just 11-for-28 against the Lions in a 24-6 loss on Sunday. The worrisome regression dropped Indianapolis to 5-7 to make this matchup between one-time AFC East rivals even more critical for Shane Steichen’s squad.

The Patriots had been putting some encouraging play on film recently until running into the juggernaut that is the Dolphins’ offense when led by Tua Tagovailoa. New England fell by a 34-15 score and Drake Maye often looked like a rookie being put through his paces by a defense that may have played its best all-around game of the season.

The game has opened with a projected total of 42.5 points.

Arizona Cardinals at Minnesota Vikings (-3.5)

The Cardinals looked lost on offense in a Week 12 loss to the Seahawks, which got the best of Kyler Murray and Co. during a 16-6 home win. Trey McBride continued to demonstrate why he’s one of the premier tight ends in the league, with 12 catches for 133 yards. But, he was about the only bright spot.

Minnesota dealt the Bears another heartbreak with a 30-27 OT victory at Soldier Field. The Vikings are now 9-2 and may be seeing Sam Darnold get his second wind. The oft-maligned veteran threw for 330 yards and two touchdowns in his second straight game without an INT.

The game has opened with a projected total of 47 points.

Tennessee Titans at Washington Commanders (-5.5)

The Titans pulled off a much-needed victory by knocking off the Texans on the road in a major Week 12 upset. Will Levis, Tony Pollard and Calvin Ridley led the way in a win that likely exemplified exactly what Tennessee coaches and fans thought they’d see a lot more of this season..

The Commanders’ 34-26 loss to the Cowboys was unforgettable – and not in a good way – for Dan Quinn’s squad. The wild defeat included a combined 41-point fourth-quarter tally, multiple big touchdowns in the final three minutes-plus, and concerning injuries to both Brian Robinson (ankle) and Austin Ekeler (concussion).

The game has opened with a projected total of 44.5 points.

Houston Texans (-4.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars

The Texans are 7-5 and have a two-game lead in the AFC South. However, Houston has now lost three of four after being unexpectedly upended by the Titans at home in Week 12. Nico Collins does look back to full health and draws a premium matchup in this game.

The Jaguars thankfully had a Week 12 bye after a 52-6 dismantling at the hands of the Lions in Week 11. Doug Pederson made it through the off week with his job intact but appears to be headed toward an offseason dismissal. Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) could return from a two-game absence in this game.

The game has opened with a projected total of 43.5 points.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-6) at Carolina Panthers

The Buccaneers commemorated Mike Evans’ return from a two-game absence due to a hamstring issue by thrashing the Giants, 30-7, in Week 12. Tampa Bay is still just 5-6 and won’t have Chris Godwin (ankle) the rest of the way, but this is a winnable matchup.

The Panthers had plenty to be pleased about in Week 12 despite a loss. Carolina pushed the defending champion Chiefs to the brink in a 30-27 overtime defeat while welcoming back Adam Thielen from IR and welcoming in Jonathon Brooks for his pro debut. Bryce Young continued to demonstrate noteworthy improvement with 263 yards and a TD.

The game has opened with a projected total of 46.5 points.

Los Angeles Rams (-3) at New Orleans Saints

The Rams fell to the Eagles by a 37-20 score on Sunday night despite Philadelphia being without DeVonta Smith (hamstring). A Los Angeles defense that had been making progress in recent games experienced some significant regression while allowing 481 total yards.

The Saints went into the bye week riding high after having recorded victories in each of interim coach Darren Rizzi’s first pair of games. Taysom Hill, who scored three TDs in a Week 11 win over the Browns, may need another big performance to continue helping make up for the absence of Chris Olave (IR, concussion).

The game has opened with a projected total of 48.5 points.

Eagles at Ravens (-3)

The Eagles impressively dispatched the Rams on the road Sunday night by a 37-20 score despite playing without DeVonta Smith (hamstring). Saquon Barkley continued to make his MVP case by amassing a jaw-dropping 255 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

The Ravens will close out the Week 12 slate on Monday night with a road showdown against the Chargers, who’ve won four straight.

The game has opened with a projected total of 50.5 points.

San Francisco 49ers at Buffalo Bills (-7)

The 49ers are now at 5-6 after a 38-10 thumping at the hands of the Packers at Lambeau Field. San Francisco was far from full strength, however – both Brock Purdy (shoulder) and Trent Williams (ankle) were sidelined. Purdy was able to do some light throwing on Monday and will naturally strive to be available for this critical game.

The Bills were off in Week 12 and, therefore, had a chance to bask in the glow of their sixth straight win. That came in the form of a 30-21 victory over the defending champion Chiefs that blemished K.C.’s record for the first time this season.

The game has opened with a projected total of 46.5 points.

Cleveland Browns (+6) at Denver Broncos (-6)

The Browns leveraged strong play from Jameis Winston, Nick Chubb, and Jerry Jeudy – along with blizzard-like conditions – to squeak by the Steelers to open Week 12. Cleveland is still playing out the string at 3-8 but has a chance to continue playing spoiler.

The Broncos’ Bo Nix threw for 273 yards and two touchdowns to continue gaining ground on Jayden Daniels for ROY honors as Denver moved to 7-5 with a 29-19 win over the Raiders. The Broncos’ defense continued its elite play and certainly has the potential to goad Winston into some turnovers.

The game has opened with a projected total of 42 points
