Week 12 look ahead lines

NFL Week 12 look-ahead lines are out. One game features a rematch of one of last year’s playoff games — right down to the venue — when the Bengals travel to play the Titans. After entering that game as underdogs, they’re early favorites this time.

Every week, usually on Friday, TheLines will post look-ahead lines from FanDuel Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook. These look aheads give an early snapshot of the current market opinions of teams absent the week-to-week bias that can take hold following weekend results.

Week 12 NFL Primetime Games

Thursday Night Football Odds

Everyone in the betting market seems to be waiting for the other shoe to drop with the Vikings. Week after week, they squeak out close wins. Installed as underdogs at home in Week 11, facing a Cowboys team that could bury this offense, could this be the week the market finally swings the other way? The Patriots under Bill Belichick have tended to dominate young QBs like Zach Wilson. So, we could see Vikings -3 here by next week, as the line wouldn’t have to move far.

Sunday Night Football Odds

Market perception of the Eagles remains pretty high in spite of a somewhat ugly loss to the Commanders in Week 10. However, nobody knows quite what to do with the Packers. Was the win over Dallas a backs-against-the-wall one-time deal? Or have they turned their season around, as has happened in the past with Aaron Rodgers at the helm? If they can slow the Titans rushing offense on Thursday Night Football, it would go a long way toward proving they’re ready for the physicality of the Eagles. They’ll get extra rest, so unless Derrick Henry runs them over, don’t expect much movement either way on this one.

Monday Night Football Odds

The matchup everyone is clamoring for in prime time as the Colts host the Steelers. Both teams have a chance to impress in Week 11, hosting top teams in the Eagles and Bengals, respectively. So, which side has a better hope of moving the market? The Colts would seem to be more at risk of a blowout loss, given the Bengals are still missing Ja’Marr Chase and this Steelers pass rush could slow the Bengals passing game as several other teams have done. So, there might be a little more urgency to play the Steelers here, although this line could move off the key number either direction.

MORE POTENTIAL WEEK 11 IMPACT ON WEEK 12 LOOK-AHEAD LINES

Bengals At Titans

After a banner season last year, the Titans closed around -4 hosting the Bengals in the AFC Divisional Playoff. Despite piling up an incredible nine sacks, three Ryan Tannehill turnovers ultimately doomed them in a 19-16 loss. In the midst of another solid season, the market has nonetheless made them early underdogs. They’ve been one of the most successful teams against the spread with a 7-2 record. There’s certainly little urgency to bet them here. If the Bengals show they can control the Steelers rush, and the Titans fall in Green Bay as the market expects, this likely ticks up to Bengals -3.

Buccaneers At Browns

A lot of weirdness surrounds the forthcoming Browns game against the Bills. It could move venues, or it could happen as planned in or after a blizzard. Regardless, even a close, competitive loss to the highly regarded Bills has the potential to move this market in their favor. That will be the only thing moving this one aside from injury as the Buccaneers have the week off. If you expect a Bills blowout — and the Browns defense will certainly need all the weather-related help it can get here — then wait on a potential Browns +3 here.

HOW TO USE NFL LOOK-AHEAD LINES

The look-ahead lines allow you a sneak peek at the projected lines for the following week’s games. This information from a leading online sportsbook will help provide lessons in understanding lines and projections before the current week’s games are played.

Many bettors tend to overreact to the previous week’s scores and results. The NFL Week 12 look-ahead lines provide a sense of stability from the oddsmaker. They sometimes offer a clear, unbiased snapshot of perceived team strength.

Bettors can also gain an edge or find value in the lines once the weekend results take hold. See if you can find any over- or under-reactions by the market.

Of course, always take note of key injuries, travel and scheduling situations, and NFL power rankings. Making adjustments is part of the process, along with accounting for teams’ strengths, weaknesses, against-the-spread angles and personnel matchups.
