49ers Vs. Cardinals Odds: Spread, Moneyline, Over/Under

When using the odds table, click the dropdown menu and select the type of bet you wish to make.

Betting the point spread is when you wager on how many points a team will win or lose by. A plus sign in front of the spread denotes the underdog, and a minus sign denotes the favorite.

In this case, the 49ers would have to win by at least nine points if you bet them to cover the point spread (-8) — an eight-point win would return your money. A spread bet on the Cardinals would win if they win the game or lose by fewer than eight — again, an eight-point loss returns your money.

Betting the moneyline is simply betting on which particular team will win a game.

The betting total is the number of combined points the two teams will score. Bettors can choose to bet the over or under on how many total points will be scored in the game.

49ers Vs. Cardinals Betting Insights

Why The 49ers Can Cover The Spread

This defense is looking healthy and dominant once again. Since the destruction at the hands of the Chiefs, they’ve shut down the Rams and Chargers, admittedly two low-powered offenses at the moment. But the Cardinals have not exactly looked like the 1999 Rams, so they figure to get the clamps treatment also. Whether a less than 100% Kyler Murray or Colt McCoy, this figures to be another fairly easy assignment for this unit, and if the Cardinals can’t surpass 14 points — a distinct possibility — then the Niners can cover even this large number.

Why The Cardinals Can Cover The Spread

There’s always an uncertainty hanging over any game on foreign soil. How will players handle the travel, and specifically, the altitude at Mexico City? Furthermore, as bad as this Cardinals offense has been, the possibility remains they could break out a bit here. That’s because regardless of the QB, that player might have the best complement of weapons the team has had available all year. RB James Conner looks healthy again, and more importantly, the WR combo of Marquise Brown and Deandre Hopkins has a chance to step on the field together for the first time all year.

Reasons To Bet The Over

The aforementioned WR situation of the Cardinals, for one thing. The coverage of the 49ers has been solid, but that’s certainly where you want to attack them, as solid is a step down from their incredible run defense. If the Cardinals can move the ball through the air because they have three solid WRs — Brown, Hopkins and Rondale Moore — then the 49ers will be forced to get a little more aggressive themselves. They should be able to put up some points against this weak Cardinals D that ranks 21st in DVOA.

Reasons To Bet The Under

Can the Cardinals move the ball? If the 49ers are the only ones scoring, that usually means the game is going under here. This Cardinals offense, while potentially getting healthier, has basically been a disaster all season. If the 49ers go up 17-3 and revert to clock-killing mode on the ground, with a bad — but not turnover-prone — passing offense on the other side, then this game probably won’t even see 35 points scored.

49ers Vs. Cardinals Matchups To Watch For

George Kittle Vs. Cardinals Coverage

While speed at LB wouldn’t appear to be an issue for a team running Isaiah Simmons and Zaven Collins out there, the Cardinals have been weak covering opposing TEs so far. Only the Seahawks have allowed more fantasy production to the TE position. Kittle has had a relatively quiet year, taking a back seat to the likes of Deebo Samuel and even Brandon Aiyuk, but this could be a breakout opportunity for him.

Cardinals Offense Vs. Injuries

Who will be available on the Cardinals offense? We know Kyler Murray and Hollywood Brown are toss-ups, and Zach Ertz will be out after a season-ending injury. But the offensive line has been in rough shape injury-wise after having just about the entire unit questionable or worse last week. Given the 49ers bring an elite rate of pressure, having a bunch of backup linemen in could very well doom this Cardinals offense, so watch the report there and see who suits up. Over/yes sack props could be in play here for the Niners.

Jimmy Garoppolo Vs. Cardinals Pass Rush

If the Cardinals are to have a chance in this game, they likely need to get pressure on Jimmy Garoppolo. According to PFF, his passer rating falls a massive 37 points when pressured. Arizona doesn’t have the coverage skills to make up for a weak pass rush here, especially against these 49ers weapons. The Niners have had solid protection all year, and the Cardinals rank bottom eight in adjusted sack rate, so this looks like an uphill climb.

Final thoughts

The 49ers look like the stronger, healthier team. They should win this game, but a few variables could make things interesting. One is obviously the travel to Mexico City and playing at a high altitude, higher than even these teams would experience in Mile High. Another is the health of the Cardinals offense and especially Kyler Murray. How effective will he be even if he plays? And what will the receiving weapons look like? A 49ers teaser looks like a relatively safe if you’re worried about these things, but keep in mind, you’ll be taking a bad number if Murray eventually gets ruled in and the line drops to something like 49ers -6.5.

Best of luck betting on 49ers Cardinals odds.
