Cincinnati Bengals (+6.5) at Baltimore Ravens (-6.5)
The Bengals capitalized on an inferior opponent at home in Week 9. They dismantled the Raiders by a 41-24 score while Joe Burrow threw five TDs for the second time this season. This is an appreciably tougher matchup and could feature a second straight absence for both Zack Moss (neck) and Tee Higgins (quadriceps).
The Ravens put on an impressive showing against a top-tier defense when they defeated the Broncos by a 41-10 score in Week 9. Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and Zay Flowers continue to be one of the best “Big Three” across either conference.
The total for the game has opened at 53 points. The first game between these teams finished with 79 total points.
New York Giants (-6.5) at Carolina Panthers (+6.5)
The Giants put up a valiant fight against the Commanders but came up short again. New York fell by a 27-22 score and saw key downfield threat Darius Slayton enter concussion protocol. The Panthers are one of the few opponents the G-Men would be favored over at this point.
The Panthers were able to squeak out a rare win over the visiting Saints. Bryce Young put together a second straight encouraging start and had a key completion to Xavier Legette on the game-winning drive. Young should continue under center for this Munich, Germany clash.
The total for the game has opened at 42 points.
Minnesota Vikings (-7) at Jacksonville Jaguars (+7)
The Vikings had some early struggles against the Colts on Sunday night but prevailed by a 21-13 score. Sam Darnold threw a pair of picks yet offset them with three touchdown passes. The Vikings defense also bounced back after some inconsistency during the team’s two-game losing streak.
The Jaguars gave the Eagles more than they likely bargained for while playing without Gabe Davis (shoulder) and Christian Kirk (IR, collarbone). Jacksonville fell by a 28-23 score but saw Trevor Lawrence unsurprisingly struggle with a pair of interceptions and another sub-200-yard effort.
The total for the game has opened at 46.5 points.
Buffalo Bills (-4) at Indianapolis Colts (+4)
The Bills had to sweat it out but prevailed over the Dolphins by a 30-27 score in Week 9. Buffalo played without Amari Cooper (wrist) and then lost Keon Coleman to his own wrist injury late in the game against Miami. This line could eventually narrow if both players are projected to sit this game out.
The Colts’ pivot to Joe Flacco didn’t yield immediate dividends. The Vikings harassed Flacco late to help seal a 21-13 victory. Indy could look a bit smoother on offense with a slightly softer defensive matchup and another week of first-team reps for the veteran.
The total for the game has opened at 47.5 points.
Pittsburgh Steelers (+2.5) at Washington Commanders (-2.5)
The Steelers were on bye in Week 9 and went into the layoff with an impressive three-game winning streak. Russell Wilson has been largely effective during his first two starts and should benefit from the extra practices between games.
The Commanders kept rolling in Week 9 despite getting a scare from the Giants on the road. Washington now has three consecutive victories. Yet, ROY favorite Jayden Daniels could be facing his most daunting challenge yet in that of the Steelers defense.
The total for the game has opened at 46 points.
New England Patriots (+6.5) at Chicago Bears (-6.5)
The Patriots nearly pulled off another victory but fell just short. New England dropped a 20-17 decision in overtime to the Titans. Drake Maye threw the game-ending interception but also threw a memorable game-tying TD to Rhamondre Stevenson as time expired after scrambling for more than 10 seconds.
The Bears’ post-bye struggles persisted Sunday against the Cardinals. Caleb Williams lost a second straight marquee QB showdown, 29-9. Williams took another six sacks while completing under 55.0 percent of his passes for the second straight game. He’s also dealing with an ankle issue that’s not expected to cost him any time.
The total for the game has opened at 39.5 points.
Tennessee Titans (+7.5) at Los Angeles Chargers (-7.5)
The Titans managed to claw their way to a 20-17 overtime victory against the Patriots. Will Levis has a chance to return from his AC injury in this game. Tony Pollard will also be coming off a season-best 128-yard effort. However, the entire offense will see a significant boost in the caliber of defensive competition against the Bolts.
The successful start to Jim Harbaugh’s second NFL tour of duty rolled on with a 27-10 win over the Browns on the road. Justin Herbert continued to look more like his old self with a 282-yard, two-touchdown day that was partly spurred by the return of Quentin Johnston (4-118-1) from a two-game absence.
The total for the game has opened at 38 points.
Philadelphia Eagles (-7) at Dallas Cowboys (+7)
The Eagles were already narrow favorites heading into the weekend. That number has now ballooned to as much as a touchdown thanks to Philadelphia’s fourth straight win Sunday and the injury to Dallas’ Dak Prescott. The condition of A.J. Brown, who was unable to play in the second half against the Jaguars on Sunday due to a knee injury, will bear monitoring.
Prescott is believed to be dealing with a multi-week ailment, according to Monday’s reports. CeeDee Lamb also has a shoulder injury that isn’t expected to lead to any absences. Nevertheless, the entire outlook for Dallas’ offense sees a downgrade with Cooper Rush or Trey Lance under center.
The total for the game has opened at 42.5 points.
New York Jets (-1.5) at Arizona Cardinals (+1.5)
The Jets managed a crucial 21-13 victory on Thursday night over the Texans. The potential season-saving win saw Aaron Rodgers throw three TDs without an interception and facilitate 90-yard efforts for both Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams.
The Cardinals moved over .500 with a convincing 29-9 home victory over the Bears. Arizona has a three-game winning streak and a 3-2 mark straight up at home.
The total for the game has opened at 46 points.
Detroit Lions (-3.5) at Houston Texans (+3.5)
The Lions shook off weather-related adversity to notch a pivotal 24-14 divisional victory on the road over the Packers. Jared Goff once again was near perfect (four incompletions on 22 attempts) and now gets Jameson Williams back from a two-game ban.
The Texans are rare home underdogs for this primetime clash in part because of the aforementioned Thursday night loss to the Jets. However, Nico Collins (IR, hamstring) is expected to have a good chance of returning for this game to help offset the recent loss of Stefon Diggs (IR, knee) for the season.
The total for the game has opened at 49 points.
Miami Dolphins (+1) at Los Angeles Rams (-1)
The Dolphins fell to a surprising 2-6 with a 30-27 loss to the Bills. Miami is now 0-2 since Tua Tagovailoa’s return despite the offense looking much more improved. This matchup against a vulnerable Rams defense could well be the one to break Mike McDaniel’s squad out of its skid.
The Rams prevailed in a marathon 26-20 overtime victory against the Seahawks. Puka Nacua was able to play through his knee injury but was ejected in the first quarter for throwing a punch. Demarcus Robinson stepped up to offer starter-worthy production (six catches, 94 yards, and two touchdowns, including a game-winning one-handed scoring grab).
The total for the game has opened at 50.5 points.
