NFL Weather Report For Week 6: Rainy Weekend On Tap

Each week, the NFL weather reports loom as potential game-changers. Ignore it at your detriment, as it can help you find a winning bet or avoid a losing one. While it’s typically more of a story later in the season, once cold and snow start to hit wind, rain, and heat can affect things even early in the year. NFL Week 6 odds feature a slew of games with rain and wind, so this week’s forecast is one bettors should closely monitor.
Week 5 was supposed to be mostly clear with the exception of games in Pittsburgh and Foxborough. Sure enough, both of those games went under easily, though it’s hard to say the weather played a role. Early rainy forecasts never came to fruition.
Keep in mind these forecasts are always subject to change. Monitor potentially impactful situations as the week progresses to see how forecasts evolve.
Denver Broncos At Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City has been known to host some windy games, particularly at night, and that looks to be the case on Thursday. Add in some rain, and you have a recipe for a potential under, particularly when the Chiefs and Broncos both feature players who have not done the best job hanging onto the ball in the past.
One can potentially see that reflected in Thursday Night Football odds, with the total dipping from 51 to 49 upon open.
NFL Weather: 58 F, 55% chance of precipitation, winds 10 to 20 mph
Minnesota Vikings At Chicago Bears
Bettors may be excited to get the Minnesota passing offense against the dreadful Bears passing defense, but perhaps they should keep an eye on the forecast here. Whipping winds and rain could mar things, in addition to the possible absence of Justin Jefferson. Such weather would figure to heavily favor Chicago. Minnesota has no rushing attack to speak of, and the Bears could potentially unleash Justin Fields on the ground, although they have their own injuries.
Again, heavy underaction has hit the board. The total plummeted from 49 to 46 at DraftKings Sportsbook.
NFL Weather: 54 F, 51% chance of precipitation, 15 to 25 mph winds

Seattle Seahawks at Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati doesn’t have quite the same concerns as the prior two games. Still, there could be some impactful weather, particularly if the forecast worsens. Currently, only moderate wins and a small chance of rain are expected. But keep an eye on things. Cincinnati’s pass-heavy offense, in particular, would figure to take a hit.
NFL Weather: 59 F, 24% chance of precipitation, winds 10 to 15 mph
San Francisco 49ers at Cleveland Browns
This forecast looks similar to that of Chicago. We’ve seen some games struggle to hit 30 in Cleveland in recent years, and with these two defenses in bad weather, few would be surprised if something similar developed with NFL Week 6 weather. This game figures to be a major test for the rebuilt Browns defense, which got wrecked on the ground last year but has been tremendous thus far. Bad conditions will only intensify that.
Again, the total has already plunged three points, this time from 42 to 39.
NFL Weather: 57 F, 55% chance of precipitation, winds 15 to 25 mph
Carolina Panthers At Miami Dolphins
There’s a lot going on here.
For one thing, if the precipitation doesn’t come through, this game could be a hot one. Temps near 90 could see Carolina struggle in the second half, chasing around the Miami speedsters.
However, there’s currently a good chance of rain with moderate winds. Would that affect the high-flying Miami offense? Over/under bettors don’t seem to think so at this juncture, as there’s been little movement on the number.
NFL Weather: 88 F, 53% chance of precipitation, winds 10 to 20 mph
Philadelphia Eagles At New York Jets
The highest chance of rain this weekend can be found in the East Rutherford forecast. Winds that fall on the high end of the forecast could add to the offenses’ difficulties. Keep in mind both of these teams got their running games going this past weekend, but the Jets have sustained some injuries along the offensive line.
NFL Weather: 54 F, 71% chance of precipitation, winds 10 to 20 mph
New York Giants At Buffalo Bills
One final potentially rainy game, although unlike the others, this one should feature modest winds. That will certainly be welcome news to Bills bettors, as their pass-heavy offense would like to see calm conditions.
Like some other games here, under-action has already hit the board. In this case, the number has only dropped modestly, from 46 to 44.5 at the time of writing.
NFL Weather: 47 F, 46% chance of precipitation, winds 5 to 10 mph
