nfl Same game parlay STRATEGY

The key to long-term profitability in SGP betting is correlation. Unlike traditional parlay bets, which can be risky because of the number of things that have to go right, correlated parlays are safer. Getting the broad story of a game correct makes it easier to hit a parlay, as you’re not cheering for disparate and potentially even contradictory things to happen.

Bettors should be aware of the overall decline in scoring this year in the NFL. This week, we must be creative and conservative in betting NFL player prop odds.

TheLines.com managing editor Stephen Andress explained what’s contributing to this. He states that it comes down to two words, “quarterbacks suck.” BetMGM trading manager Christian Cipollini concurred that quarterback play has declined this season. Short of a QB resurgence, leaning to the under on player props seems likely to be a profitable strategy.

Potential Titans at steelers tNF Sgp PICKS

Titans

With Kenny Pickett confirmed as Thursday night’s starter for Pittsburgh, the spread doesn’t seem to be making any drastic moves. The Steelers seem to be getting too much respect from oddsmakers in this spot. Yes, the Steelers are at home facing a rookie quarterback in his second start, but the underlying numbers indicate Tennessee should be able to keep this game close, and maybe even win outright.

Starting with the Steelers’ underwhelming offense, Pittsburgh averages 1.17 points per drive, 31st in the NFL. 34.4% of the scoring plays against Tennessee this season have been touchdowns, the lowest rate in the league. Finally, Just 18.1% of Pittsburgh drives have reached the red zone or scored prior, the lowest rate in the NFL. Lack of scoring seems likely Pittsburgh on Thursday, so expecting the Titans to keep this game close makes sense.

Titans RB Derrick Henry Props

With rookie quarterback Will Levis set to play his second NFL game on a short week, expect the Titans to have a run-centric game plan in this contest. Those who have been following “King Henry” over the years know he gets better as the weather gets colder. With temperatures in the mid 30’s, expect the Titans to give their all-pro running back a heavy dose of work.

For starters, Henry has eclipsed 100 total yards in three of his last four games. In his first start with Levis, Henry handled a season-high 81.3% of the backfield touches. He also had a season-high 88.0% of rushing attempts from the backfield. In the past two weeks, Pittsburgh has allowed 132 yards and a touchdown to the Rams backfield and then 186 yards and a touchdown to Jacksonville backs last week.

Potential Under Bets

Najee Harris handled just 12 touches last week in Jacksonville, rushing seven times for 13 yards, his fewest in a game this season. Harris has reached 60% of the backfield opportunities in just two of seven games. The efficiency has been lacking for him as he has now rushed 35 times for 103 yards over the past three weeks, a sub three yards per carry clip.

Harris now runs into a tough matchup. Only one running back has reached 70 yards rushing against the Titans this season, and just one has had more than 76 total yards in a game. The Titans have also allowed the fewest receptions and the second-fewest receiving yards to opposing RBs in 2023.
