NFL same game parlay and player props are now available at Thursday Night Football’s best NFL betting sites. NFL Week 4 begins with a classic NFC North battle between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions. The Packers are slight home underdogs in this contest. The Over/Under for this game is set at . Below, we’ll highlight NFL TNF player props and a potential SGP strategy for those player prop picks.

NFL TNF Player Props: lions at packers

nfl Same game parlay STRATEGY

When piecing together a same-game parlay, it is best practice to choose legs that correlate. Some outcomes increase the probability of other legs cashing and boost your mathematical possibility of cashing the entire parlay. Finding correlations and actionable stats in teams helps boost the rest of your parlay legs.

When betting on player props, It makes sense to think of the expected game script and how you expect the game to operate.

Let’s begin our parlay with how we project this game to play out. With this contest being a division game and displaying a tight spread, one should expect the game script to be relatively neutral for both teams. Leaning to an under-point total game doesn’t sound crazy as both defenses are hot to start the year. The Lions’ defense comes off a dominant performance in which they had seven sacks, two by Aidan Hutchinson, and allowed just 2.8 yards per play. Green Bay’s defense already has nine sacks through three games (only four teams have more) and they will be rushing against a hobbled Detroit offensive line.

Potential lions AT packers tNF Sgp PICKS

With likely sloppier game flow expected, let’s tap into Lions rookie RB Jehmyr Gibbs and specifically his receiving projection in this game. With Montgomery sidelined in Week 3 due to a thigh injury, Gibbs took over as the RB1 in this backfield. His usage though, wasn’t exactly as we all expected.

Gibbs had 17 carries but did not have a monopoly on passing downs. The rookie played six third downs, the same number as backup RB Craig Reynolds. He ran just 20 routes on 37 Jared Goff dropbacks. That 54.1% route participation mark isn’t terrible, but it’s not what we expected from Gibbs given his reputation as a pass catcher and the absence of Montgomery. Gibbs had just two targets for a 6.1% target share.

However, the Lions dominated the game last week, which did not force OC Ben Johnson to use his toy in the receiving game as we all thought.

Gibbs’ passing-down role will surely grow throughout the season. Dan Campbell has hinted to the team that he wants to take things slow with their first-round pick rather than pushing him into a full-time role right away. This all adds up to the Lions featuring Gibbs in the receiving game on Thursday Night.

Combining the short spread, the Lions banged up offensive line, and Jered Goff’s historical troubles on the road, getting Gibbs on quick hitters makes a ton of sense in this spot.

The matchup for Gibbs to excel in the receiving is also prime. According to Pro Football Reference, Green Bay’s defense has the fifth-most pressures and the fifth-highest blitz rate in the league. The Packers have also notably surrendered the third-most catches and third-most yards to opposing RBs in 2023.

  • Jahmyr Gibbs OVER Receiving Yards
  • Jahmyr Gibbs OVER Receptions
  • Under Game Total:

Sportsbooks may not have Gibbs receiving yards props at the time of publication, with fellow RB David Montgomery questionable to play. When they become available, this props table will automatically update, as well as the one above.
