Steelers Anytime Touchdown Scorer Strategy
The Steelers are home favorites, and the game carries a -point over/under. Implied team totals make the expected final score: Steelers 20, Titans 17. That means we should expect two touchdowns from the Steelers.
The Titans defense has fallen on hard times. After initially being stout against the run but poor against the pass, even the run defense has fallen to the middle of the pack. The pass defense remains dreadful, ranking 26th in EPA/play allowed. So, the Steelers could attack in any number of ways.
Steelers ATTD Scorer Bets
WR George Pickens ()
Diontae Johnson dominated the target share last week with 14 (!). However, he and Pickens had a roughly even split the week before, and Johnson is allergic to the end zone, not having scored a touchdown since the 2021 season.
Therefore, given the paucity of possible touchdown scorers (and probably of touchdowns total in this game), Pickens at a similar price seems like a better play. His contested catch style and penchant for big plays is just a better fit when looking for players who might find pay dirt.
RB Jaylen Warren ()
As has been documented elsewhere, Warren has outproduced Najee Harris in the majority of games this season. Additionally, the two backs saw an even split of targets last week, with five apiece. And Warren has 15 more overall on the season.
Red-zone rushes have also been evenly distributed between the two backs.
The Steelers’ RB usage has been a bit uneven at times. And given the way the Tennessee defense tends to encourage passing the football, I’m not sure I’d be all that enthusiastic betting on either of these guys reaching the end zone. But if I were to take a touchdown odds prop on a Pittsburgh back, Warren would be my choice.
Best of luck with your TNF anytime touchdown bets.
