Bills Anytime Touchdown Scorer Strategy
The Bills are home favorites, and the game carries a -point over/under. Implied team totals make the expected final score: Bills 25, Bucs 17. That means we should expect three touchdowns from the Bills.
The Buccaneers have a pretty good defense, but it’s quite lopsided. They rank second in EPA/play allowed against the rush but 20th against the pass, meaning the Bills will likely have difficulty running the ball in.
Bills ATTD Scorer Bets
QB Josh Allen ()
Tampa Bay’s excellent work stopping the run this year and their standout tackling (seventh in the NFL per PFF) mean there’s probably a higher likelihood of the Bills facing very short yardage in the red zone. That’s where Josh Allen can excel with his legs. Desmond Ridder, just last week, ran in a touchdown against the Bucs and should have run in another before letting up and fumbling as he crossed the goal line.
In a spot where Bills RBs project to face some tough sledding, look for Allen to possibly run in his fifth TD of the year. He has already scored in four of the team’s first seven games.
TE Dalton Kincaid ()
Nominal starting Bills TE Dawson Knox is out indefinitely after needing to undergo wrist surgery. That leaves Kincaid as the clear alpha in the positional group, stepping into the role the team likely envisioned when it used a first-round pick on him.
Unfortunately, Tampa Bay has a coverage ace at LB in Lavonte David, which has enabled them to restrict opposing TEs significantly.
However, I think the role of Kincaid is just too attractive. Note that while Stefon Diggs commands a large share of the targets, if one combines the red-zone targets of Kincaid and Knox, that number exceeds what Diggs has received by one. Of course, other token TEs could factor into the equation as well, but this should probably be the Kincaid show. The kid showed what he’s got with a big eight-catch, 75-yard performance against the Patriots.
Best of luck with your TNF anytime touchdown bets.
