Giants vs. Cowboys Betting Insights
Reasons The Giants Can Cover The Spread
The Giants are over the key number of 7, but much more importantly, they’re a team at the bottom of their public perception against a team at the top of theirs. If you think the Lions are actually better than their results so far this season, the Giants loss doesn’t seem too bad.
On the other side, the Cowboys will have never been more overrated by market than beating the Vikings in a game everyone had money on them in. The Cowboys were one of the most public sides of the season and they won everyone money – generally speaking, fading that team the week after is profitable.
Why The Cowboys can cover the spread
The Cowboys finally showed that their offense can step up to the plate in a dominant performance against the Vikings. The whole concern with the Cowboys and their ability to cover big numbers has been their offense, which last week should curtail. The Cowboys defense is elite and should be able to shut down Daniel Jones.
The other reason the Cowboys should be able to survive regression is that the Giants defense is bad. Bottom 10 in both pass defense and rush defense going into the Lions game, the Giants were somehow worse than their metrics in losing handily to Jared Goff and co, and if that’s what Goff can do to them, the Cowboys should eat them alive.
Reasons to bet the over
The total in this game is in many ways dependent on what you think of the side in this game. If you think the Cowboys are going to cover this game, then you are implicitly believing that Dak Prescott et all will be keep the offensive explosion going. If the Cowboys offense can look like they did in Minnesota and Green Bay, then the Giants won’t have to score too many points to cover a relatively low total of 43.5.
The Giants having a bottom 10 rush defense against the Cowboys’ top 5 rush offense will help the Cowboys score, which will help the Over.
Reasons to bet the under
On the other side, if you think the Giants will keep the Giants in this game then the under is likely. A Giants cover is likely not going to be because they keep up in a shootout. If they win, it’s going to be because Saquon Barkley and the Giants running game kills the clock and slows the game down.
If that happens, the combination of the Giants slowing pace down and the Cowboys elite defense could allow for a lot of field goals and minimal scoring, which would lead to both an under and an increased likelihood of a Giants cover.
Giants vs. Cowboys Props: Matchups To Watch For
Saquon Barkley Rushing Yards: If the Giants are going to make this game close, it’s going to be because the Giants can establish the run early and often. If they are able to be successful against the Cowboys, it will be against their run, where they are comparatively weaker. Given this, a Saquon Over is in effect a bet on the Giants keeping it close and giving us a competitive game during Thanksgiving dinner.
The Giants are a fraudulent team, and there’s nothing that can really suggest they should keep this game close.
It’s never this simple when it comes to the NFL, but the Giants just failed to cover this spread at home against the Lions, and are now being asked to cover this in Dallas against a much better team. I know the NFL’s whole thing is that on any given Sunday anyone can win, but anybody can win doesn’t mean anybody will win.
The Giants have been the NFL’s most obviously fraudulent team for weeks, and in the last few weeks they’ve shown it. They lost convincingly to both the Lions and Seahawks, and barely beat a Texans team that is terrible.
The Giants are just not fundamentally equipped to handle the Cowboys – their bad Defense only looked better than it was because they played a series of mediocre or worse QBs. Whatever you think of Dak, he’s not that.
Even if the Cowboys regress negatively from this week, and the Giants regress positively, these teams are further apart than this spread suggests. Best of luck betting the Giants Cowboys spread.
