NFL SNF Player Props, Same Game Parlay Promos: Bears At Chargers

The NFL Week 8 slate for Sunday is capped off with the Bears visiting the Chargers on Sunday Night Football. These SNF player props appeared midweek, giving bettors plenty of time to pick their favorite prop bets before kickoff. Los Angeles is a home favorite, with Chicago on the moneyline to win the game. This game features two defenses heading in opposite directions, making me dig deep into the list of props in the hunt for some winners. Below, I’ll explain who I’m targeting for SNF player props as Week 8 wraps up. SNF PLAYER PROPS: BEARS AT CHARGERS

Bears QB Tyson Bagent Over Rushing Yards

In his first career start, rookie QB Tyson Bagent showcased his willingness to scramble and pick up yards when nothing is open. He finished the Raiders game with three rushes for 24 yards. For reference, his rushing yards prop was 13.5 last week.

The Bears’ offense is built around their quarterback’s ability to run, and although Bagent doesn’t possess the speed Justin Fields does, he’s not a statue in the pocket either. Luke Getsy might bust out s fome designed quarterback runs against a team struggling to contain quarterbacks of late.

The Chargers defense has yet to face elite running quarterbacks, yet the position on the ground has still torched them. Against the Cowboys, they let Dak run loose for 40 yards, including an 18-yard scamper. Last week against the Chiefs, Mahomes scurried his way to 29 rushing yards. If Bagent’s first and second reads aren’t there, I envision him taking off a few times to go over this number tonight.

Bears WR D.J. Moore Over Receiving Yards

Despite Bagent’s inability to deliver the ball deep, I like Moore to go over this number. The Chargers’ zone defense has gotten torched this season, most recently by Travis Kelce last weekend. I was tempted to play Cole Kmet’s receiving yards, but he’s not the zone beater for this offense; that player is Moore. Against zone coverage, Moore has been targeted 32 times and reeled in 29 catches for an impressive 348 yards and two scores. Unlike Kmet, he’s been highly successful in finding the soft spot in zones and sitting down and getting open.

On the season, Staley’s unit has allowed the fourth most receiving yards to wide receivers, with 1,282. This is particularly concerning since the Chargers have only played six games thus far. The Bears will likely look to attack cornerback Michael Davis, who has a bottom-20 coverage grade (via PFF). As a result, he’s allowed a 126.6 passer rating to opposing quarterbacks who target him.

Furthermore, if Moore lines up against Asante Samuel Jr., he’s allowed the second most receiving yards in the NFL with 440. He’s been exploited in Staley’s zone defense but has been dominant in man coverage. In man coverage, he’s been targeted a mere eight times and notched two interceptions and one pass breakup. Ultimately, I think Staley plays too much zone and gets picked apart by Moore on Sunday night.
