The NFL Week 7 slate for Sunday wraps up with the Dolphins visiting the Eagles, a marquee matchup that should garner a considerable handle for Sunday Night Football odds. These SNF player props trickled in on Wednesday and Thursday, giving bettors plenty of time to review their favorite bets before kickoff. Philadelphia is a  home favorite, with Miami on the moneyline to win the game. The Over/Under is .

SNF PLAYER PROPS: Dolphins AT eagles

This game features two defenses that can be exploited, leading me to believe some overs may be in play for this game. Below, I’ll explain who I’m targeting for SNF player props as the game approaches kickoff. D’Andre Swift Over Rushing Yards

The Dolphins run defense has yet to be tested this season. The one team they faced in the top 10 in rushing success rate was the Bills. Buffalo’s running backs logged 22 carries for 90 yards. Even Chuba Hubbard had success on the ground last week for Carolina, as he notched 19 carries for 88 yards and a score. However, the game script eventually got out of hand, forcing Carolina to abandon their successful attack.

The Eagles’ rushing attack grades out as the best in the league by EPA and rushing success rate, when garbage time is filtered out. Facing a team this good on the ground is unfamiliar territory for the Dolphins defense. I see a situation unfolding where Philadelphia keeps pounding the rock and challenging Miami to stop them.

This could be problematic from a tackling perspective for Miami’s defense. They rank in the league’s bottom half in tackling (via PFF), while Swift has 18 missed tackles forced (8th in the NFL).

DeVonta Smith Over Receiving Yards

Rather than play on A.J. Brown in this matchup, I like DeVonta Smith to have a big game. Just monitor the injury report, as he popped up on it Wednesday but is trending toward playing.

Even though he’s played second fiddle behind Brown this year, Smith is 21st in the NFL in targets with 45. The 11 targets he recorded last week were a welcoming sign, given that he hadn’t recorded double-digit targets since Week 1 against New England.

The Dolphins are in the league’s bottom half in pass defense, ranking 22nd in pass DVOA. Their 1,023 yards allowed to WRs rank 10th in the league, which is slightly inflated due to opponents operating in a negative game script. Smith will primarily face either Eli Apple or Xavien Howard in coverage; neither has fared well this year. Each cornerback owns a coverage grade below 50 (via PFF) and has allowed over 200 yards in coverage thus far to opponents.

Jaylen Waddle over receiving yards

I keep waiting for the massive Waddle game to occur, but it hasn’t happened. The encouraging part with Waddle is that the targets are on the uptick. In the last two weeks, he was targeted ten and nine times; however, the most yards he could accumulate was 51. He has another favorable matchup and a chance to have a big game against this Eagles pass defense.

The Eagles rank 20th in pass DVOA thus far, a massive dip from their 1st overall rating last year. Some of that can be attributed to losing their DC in the offseason, while some can be attributed to poor secondary play and injuries. On the injury front, Darius Slay has a knee injury that forced him to miss last week’s game. If he’s unable to go, Josh Jobe will likely step in again. Jobe grades out as a bottom-25 cornerback in coverage (via PFF), so if Slay is sidelined again, Waddle could find himself in a favorable matchup Sunday night.
