Chiefs Anytime Touchdown Scorer Strategy
The Chiefs are road favorites, and the game carries a -point over/under. Implied team totals make the expected final score: Chiefs 24, Packers 18. That means we should expect three touchdowns from the Chiefs.
Two players are hogging all of the Chiefs TD equity: Isiah Pacheco and Travis Kelce. The two stalwarts have combined for 11 scores, six by Pacheco, accounting for more than a third of all those produced by K.C. Very likely, one will find the end zone on Sunday. Will they both?
Chiefs ATTD Scorer Bets
Will Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco score a touchdown? ()
Pacheco has dominated red-zone carries to a comical degree this year, commanding nearly all of the handoffs in the red zone and five of the Chiefs’ six rushing TDs. If there’s a rushing TD by anyone with an arrow on his helmet, very likely Pacheco will be the man carrying it in.
Green Bay has not been a very strong run defense, ranking 23rd in YPA allowed and 20th in EPA/rush.
The key will be what kind of blocking the Chiefs can produce, as that’s been a weak point at times.
Still, Pacheco has a chance to get involved via the passing game as well. He scored through the air last week, but the officials incorrectly called him down, and the play wasn’t challenged. He ranks fourth on the team in red-zone targets, which indicates some potential.
Will Chiefs WR Rashee Rice score a touchdown? ()
The newly crowned WR1 for the Chiefs, the rookie Rice finally received his fair share of the snaps in Week 12, with 67% that led the corps. He had previously been hovering around the 40-50% marks far too often, especially considering how poor the play of his fellow wideouts has been at times.
Rice’s 10 targets led the team, and he’s far and away in second place after Kelce despite the limited burn he’s gotten.
Given Rice’s yards-after-catch potential, he seems like the natural fit for any sweeps or other gadget plays the Chiefs may run as well. Previously, Kadarius Toney had often handled such touches, but he appears to have been a healthy inactive last week as his disappointing career continues down its path.
Rice’s newfound role has him in position to start commanding more red-zone touches, so I’ll gamble on the underdog money relative to Kelce.
