Cooper Rush Rides Again
Dallas will reportedly go with Cooper Rush again at QB despite a major flop last week against the Eagles. It’s not that Trey Lance was much better, but the Cowboys offense with Rush bordered on being completely non-functional.
Rush somehow managed just 45 yards passing on 24 dropbacks. The offense was horizontal to the extreme. Considering the game state, Rush’s aDOT (average depth of target) of 6.4 probably undersells the lack of aggression.
The market confidence in Rush is so low that most betting apps have limited props available for this game. There appears to be a built-in expectation that Rush’s leash is short enough to allow Lance to take over again at some point.

Without Collins — and Stefon Diggs — this unit has devolved into a bit of a mess. After a solid early season in which they averaged 23.8 points per game, the Texans have yet to crack that number once in the past four contests.
Joe Mixon’s return has sometimes helped the rushing attack, but C.J. Stroud seems to have regressed a bit behind a mediocre offensive line with a scheme that isn’t doing him any favors.
Still, Collins has been so impactful that he could give this unit some juice again. Before going down injured, he had placed himself squarely in the discussion of Offensive Player of the Year. His 113.4 yards per game would lead the league if he had kept that up.

Predictions For NFL SGP Picks
I think some tail outcomes are in play here where the Texans demolish the Cowboys. Collins being back could get this offense back to the at least solid unit racing off to wins early in the season. And if the Dallas offense is non-functional without Dak Prescott, Houston might run away with this one, like the Eagles last week.
That puts a scenario in play where Houston wins big, the total goes over, but Dallas doesn’t clear their team total. That likely requires 30+ from the Texans, but it’s not an unreasonable ask, especially when they can probably move the ball while killing the clock against this pathetic run defense (32nd in rush defense EPA/play).
