After gaining 10 or more yards on a career-low of 3.9% of his runs in 2023-24, Green Bay tailback Josh Jacobs has compiled an 11.8% clip this season, the second-highest of his career. The two-time Pro Bowler has tallied the second-most yards after contact (563) and is third in overall rushing yards (987).
To boot, Jacobs is fresh off a mini-bye following a win versus the Dolphins on Thanksgiving. He should have his fair share of rushing lanes on Thursday night.
With the help of Jacobs, the Packers outgained the Lions in yards per play (6.6-4.7) despite suffering a 10-point loss in Week 9. Jordan Love’s groin injury limited their offensive ceiling against Detroit’s then-healthy defense.
I’ll take Packers +3.5 as the second leg for my NFL SGP picks. Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur has thrived as an underdog, going 24-12 (67%) against the spread and 20-16 (56%) straight up.
