I say yes, assuming Herbert’s ankle injury doesn’t sideline him on Thursday night. Thus, I’m using the Chargers’ ML odds for the first of my NFL SGP picks.
Herbert’s counterpart, Bo Nix, has tallied two of his three highest turnover-worthy play rates (per Pro Football Focus) over the last two contests. He faced the Colts and Browns in that span. Nix’s poor decision-making translated into five interceptions.
Granted, the Chargers aren’t in the same class as Indy or Cleveland in terms of generating pressure. But I’m banking on them employing more blitz packages than in Week 6. If this notion comes to fruition, Nix will likely toss another interception — this time to his division rival.
