I’m willing to sell the Lions at the peak of their market rating. While Dan Campbell’s unit is favored to win Super Bowl 59, it’s benefited from fortunate situations, including matchups against the Seahawks and Cowboys’ banged-up defenses, the Nico Collins-less Texans, and Trevor Lawrence-less Jaguars.
Enter quarterback Caleb Williams, who has amassed the seventh-most adjusted EPA per dropback over the last two tilts. His success stems from Chicago parting ways with offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. The highly-regarded Thomas Brown is Williams’ interim OC.
Whether the Bears face a negative game script or operate with the lead, their best opportunity to hang around is through the air. The market hasn’t adjusted enough from Williams’ Week 12 performance against the Vikings, throwing for 340 yards and two scores. To boot, Minnesota boasts a more effective pass rush than Detroit, giving Williams more time in and outside of the pocket.
