In their first meeting on Sept. 29, Kansas City closed as a touchdown favorite and won by precisely seven. I disagree with the market adjustment this time, so I’ve thrown in an alternate spread on the Chiefs for the first of my NFL SGP picks.
Additionally, Patrick Mahomes boasts the sixth-best adjusted EPA per dropback and passing success rate since Week 8, correlating with the arrival of veteran wideout DeAndre Hopkins. He’s historically carved up zone defenses, which Los Angeles employs a mix of at one of the highest rates across the NFL.
Outside of Hopkins’ 86-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Buccaneers on MNF, we have not seen him break out in his new offense. With another primetime matchup on deck, expect that to change against the Chargers’ overrated defense.
