Posted By Matt Burke on April 21, 2021

It was made official in late March that the NFL would move from a 16-game to a 17-game regular season. The news is great for sports bettors and fans alike because, ya know, more football! Now, you may be wondering “when is the NFL schedule release date?” Here we will look at what day you can expect the 2021 slate to be released and look at NFL betting options that are already available.

Free bonus $ offers from sportsbooks

When is the NFL schedule release date?

Update: ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted on Wednesday, April 21 that the 2021 NFL schedule would be released on Wednesday, May 12.

So, when will the NFL schedule be released? The league keeps folks guessing throughout the spring but we do have a pretty good idea of which day it will be unveiled.

Sports Business Journal reporter Ben Fischer reported in March that the NFL schedule release date would take place sometime between May 10 – 14.

It is possible that the schedule will be released prior to the NFL Draft, which takes place from April 29 – May 1. Up until last year, the NFL schedule release date came in mid to late April. It typically comes on a Thursday night, with the NFL Network having a full schedule release show.

If the league reverts back to the old way of doing things, we could see the NFL schedule released on either April 15 or April 22.
